I thought I would share an experience. My Spark and my iPhone communicated just fine, as soon as I connected via my RC it was unusable, the video stream was giving me maybe 1/2 a frame per 20'seconds. I tried all sorts to no avail but today I tried connecting via wifi to my RC after switching off my Bluetooth, it works just great! So my Apple Watch was breaking my Drone, oh the joys of IT....

Or you can connect your phone to the RC with a mini USB adapter.

Yep this has been reported numerous times! Switch off Bluetooth when flying and all will be well. Seems to cause interference somehow.

Will connecting via a mini USB adapter help prolong the life of the iPhone battery rather than via Wifi. I find my iPhone 7 battery drains almost as quickly as flying the spark.

Ahhh ok, I will try that tomorrow. I had a situation where my feed freezes, goes black and white and I can honestly say, gave me a small heart attack as the drone was almost out of sight some 50-70m away.

If this is so critical, DJI should ideally create a pop up reminder to turn off Bluetooth when you connect.

Thanks

interesting, do you mean if I connect the phone to the RC's USB port I can skip the WiFi link between the RC and the phone, similar as we use to do vith the mavic?

so I need a cable with one end terminating MALE micro-USB and the other end  terminating MALE "lightning"  (Apple)..  is it correct?  and where can I get this cable?

Hmm, when I first had this problem I tried the cable solution, it did not connect at all! I will try again!

I don't think the RC has enough power to recharge the phone. Some say this trick won't works with iPhone 7.

Ah! My iPhone is a 7 so that is probably why it doesn't work.

Switching off Bluetooth worked for me. Hopefully this is just a bug!
