I see the camera resets the file name every time you empty the card ... creating duplicate file names in the image library ones tranferred to your computer.
Now I have ...

DJI_0001
DJI_0001(2)
DJI_0001(3)

In most cameras you have options for how to create file names but I havent found such a feature in the I1 ...
Is there one ... Or if not ... Could there please be options for this in the future firmware updates?

There is a function in the Android App to make the files continuous so you don't have the duplicate file numbers. I'm using it and it works great. It continues on even after you've emptied the SD card.

DJI, please implement a file unique name convention such as "DJI_2015-03-15_10-38-27.mov".
This would get rid of many problems! Actually you are using a tipical beginner file naming-style that doesn't match with this wonderful pro-product.

Please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please!!!

If you're on a Mac, you can use Automator to change each imported file to the current date and time, or whichever format you want really.  Or just create a simple folder, title it with flight location and date and import your clips.  That's what I typically do and I never have a problem.

Not that I know of. I do it in the file. I am using a MAC but this would be the same with any computer I would imagine. I open up the card reader, in other words the icon for your card reader on your desktop. You will see the files on the card. You can change the name there or download the file to your computer and hit the toolbar and click "Save As" in the file menu and a window will open and you can title the file name whatever you want and the store it where you want. Desktop, Burn it to a CD, a Folder, unlimited places as where you want to keep it. Hope this helps?

You're right, but this is not the point.
Why to use 3rd party tools or methods when it can be done natively?
What I suggest or ask for is standard in most systems.
