I was connected to Spark's WIFI but when I turned it off and then try to turn it on again I can no longer connect to it even though its wifi network is visible. I have no problem reconnecting to other wifi networks, only with Spark. To reconnect to it I have to reset it by pressing the battery power button for 9 seconds (3 beeps), in short, I have to do it evertime I fly.

True, I also contacted them, the customer support just told me to always reset it everytime I will fly

Weird thing is that it works fine with Lenovo A7000+ but not with Xiaomi Mi3

Sorry to hear about the issue you're faced with.
To figure it out, please help me confirm the following information, thanks in advance.
1. You purchased Spark or Spark Combo?
2. If you purchased Spark, please export the data from black box, then upload it to Dropbox and post the link here.
3. If It is Spark Combo, please connect the Remote WiFi on your mobile device if you use remote when flying, while you need connect the aircraft WiFi on mobile device if you fly it without Remote. If the problem persists after confirmation again, please export the data for further analysis.

PS: To export the data, please download the Assistant 2 from DJI offcial Spark webiste, install it then connect your Spark to PC, run Assistant 2, click on "Black box" in the left side, you could save it to local, here is the picture for your reference:

I have a combo, I use the phone, although I do not connect the spark to the remote .
I have to reset each time. I tested by connecting the spark to the phone, it works. I cut the wifi of the phone and I turn on the wifi of the phone (leaving the spark on). It reconnects automatically. But if I turn off the spark and turn it on again the phone does not see the wifi from the park. I have to do a 9s reset. As the wifi reappears.
Is normal for a combo without reconnecting to remote control?  I need To make a reset between two uses with the telephone? (Samsung s7 edge)

Diana, thank you for your reply. I use Xiaomi Mi 3 and here's the complete details from gsmarena http://www.gsmarena.com/xiaomi_mi_3-5678.php, for the mean time, here a quick details of its WLAN Wi-Fi
  • 802.11 a/b/g/n
  • dual-band
  • Wi-Fi Direct
  • hotspot
It supports both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz and capable of automatically selecting the frequency band.


Please note that I didn't have issue using Xiaomi Mi 3 with DJI Go app for my Phantom 3 Advanced before.

However, I didn't encountered this issue using my wife's mobile phone which is Lenovo A7000 Plus, here's its WLAN specs
  • Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n
  • hotspot

Moreover, I saw some posts in this forum that their mobile device model though included in the compatible list also encourtered the same issue.

Hi, i use Samsun galaxy note 4 , Samsun S3, Nvidia Shield, Sony Xperia. All of those have the same problem, only IPAD PRO work fine.

Not really, some android phone doesn't have issue with Spark's wifi.

Sorry for delay. I am using a Google Nexus 6P with Android 7.1.2. It support Wifi 5Ghz, and works correctly on my home internet at 5Ghz.

I'm having the same problem. Having to reset the WiFi settings using the 9 second button press. Disappointed. I've got 2 devices S7 Edge(2.4+5GHz) and an old Hudll (2.4GHz).Getting the same thing on both. For its initial connection everything worked fine but then it said "switching WiFi you your country" and that's when it misbehaves.

After resetting the WiFi it connects on 2.4GHz. Dji needs a solution that remembers that for next time to save that so resetting is not required.

Resetting the WiFi looses SSID and password changes... annoying.

Summary 2 annoying issues that are easy fixes in firmware. It's tarnished my view of the drone and as my first use of DJI products doesn't leave a good impression.

I have same problem!! Phone Galaxy S7 in Europe.. Phone normal work with my 5.8Ghz router but no with Spark.. SPARK DOES NOT SUPPORT EU 5.8GHZ FREQUENCY!!!!! Spark support 5.8Ghz channel 149-161 but in Europe we have 5.8Ghz channels 100-140!!!!!!!!!! I attach my black box log... Please FIX IT!!!
