Possibly a $20 US set of antenna's will solve your problem? Maybe the gimbal board. Because you are having a problem, that you can't fix, doesn't mean the P3 s is a piece of junk. It is a solid good drone that can take a lot of abuse .
You need to fly out instead of up. The antenna in the legs is effectively blind/deaf to your transmitting signal - and that's assuming you're aiming correctly. Think about it.
