Can anyone help me pick which stiching software I should buy

Why buy any? Hugin is free and does an excellent  job.

It depends on what type of outcome you're looking to achieve. For basic panos, for example, I have great success with Microsoft ICE. It can create  the pano by stiching photos, or by extracting required frames from a pan taken in video. And it's free !!

I have used MS ICE in the past , and it works well. Just make sure you have a reasonable overlap in the images.

From photos - good point. From videos, of course, all ICE needs is in the constant pan taken.

I can never get Hugin to work.
