I am at a point for an upgrade, current unit is a Phantom 3 Stnd-- looking at Mavic Pro (Fly more combo)-- or Phantom 4 Pro?

This link is very useful to compare the drones, http://www.dji.com/products/compare-consumer-drones . I think, this may help you to make a choice.

Portability or photography it seems you can't have both. Phantom is difficult to bring away with you if flying hiking, Mavic just have the quality of the P4pro.

Thank you for the feedback, I am probably going to get the P4 pro. Not so worried about portability.

If transport and storage isn't a concern, why not consider the newest Inspire?
It's a big bad bird, that may fill your storage locker. Haha

With a comfortable DJI backpack, you might find the Phantom easier to transport, on those most difficult hiking trails. It will hold everything you need for a fun filled afternoon of hiking and drone photography.

I use it mainly for photography, more of a hobbyist.

Yes, the financial factor always plays a role in our major purchase decisions.

I wouldnt go that far. The p4 has a better camera than the mavic. The p4p's camera is leaps and bounds better than mavics camera.

I hate to jump in ya'lls discussion, but there is somebody selling a dji phantom 3 in my area without remote and charger.  It seems stolen or lost to me.  Is there a way to contact support to try and get it back to the rightful owner?  He sent me a pic of the side codes and the numbers.  Thanks from austin.

No. DJI has no interest to help us, if a drone is lost. Sadly they will only go through the flight dat, and give you their experienced opinion. Unless they have proven the loss, to have been drone problematic and not pilot error.

It would be a good idea to relay those numbers to the local constabulary, maybe the drones owner has reported it lost, stolen or missing.Likely in a mission of aerial photography and excitement/action.
