I read how to perform an emergency motor shut-off with the RC (both stick downward) but is there a similar procedure using the smartphone only ?

No you cannot preform CSC. With phone.

If your AC is falling out of the sky it will almost certainly be turning over, so once your AC flips over it will cut power, if you need to cut the power when it's on the ground just flip it on its back, so no real need for CSC.

Thanks.  Was actually more thinking of a case where the Spark would end up against a child head and start messing around with hair..   Spark is no hairdresser :-)

If this was the case grab it and turn it on its back, follow the rules for your country about how close you can fly to people.
