Hi!

I've been reading some rumours about a new version of Spark which includes folded arms (like Mavic Pro). In my opinion, there's some other points to be considered before it which could be more welcome for most of Spark users like me:

1) A new camera system with larger sensor for pictures (20 megapixel or more) plus option to record RAW files.

2) A better flying range (making the drone lighter, a new version of the battery or creating new engines and processors that consume less energy).

3) A protection to avoid in-flight battery dettachments and drone fall (there's some users reporting accidents with the battery being dettached during a flight).

4) A better remote control radio range (it's common to loose radio signal after flying a distance longer than 400m).

5) A good support in DJI Go app for using OTG cable to connect the remote control to a smartphone or tablet instead wi-fi connection (which is subject to interferences)!

I want to buy a drone with more resources like the above in the future and the Mavic Pro was my natural option, but I'm very satisfied with Spark size (it's easy to carry everywhere inside a small backpack), so I'll wait a bit more for an improved version of Spark!

Add clear to the choice of Spark colours. A clear top cover would look cool!

1) OTG cable support (to address 5.8GHz issues for EU Android users)

2) Manual selection of ATTI mode via the DJI GO app and simulator (to allow pilots to practice flying in this mode before an emergency arises)

3) Ability to use the GO app simulator without the need for the Spark to be powered up.

4) FCC in Brazil, as this is allowed here. Why the hell is the Spark flying in CE mode in a FCC allowed country?

I have only had my Spark for a few months so I am not ready to upgrade to the new Spark II if and when it comes out. I love the Spark but cannot upgrade to a proposed new aircraft yet.

But If there were some firmware upgrades that could be purchased for the the Spark I you will have a customer. I could see DJI offering a menu of al-a-cart software upgrades that would come standard on the Spark II but could be purchased for an additional cost to upgrade Spark I

1. At the very least a firmware upgrade to 60fps.
2. The ability to record video in 2k.
3. More manual control over the video settings.

DJI is doing a great job and I really  really like my spark.

Maybe the next move to do with the spark should be to add the RAW capability

Re-enable the use of OTG cable to connect tablet to RC.

More stable connection, less lag. Just better with OTG

What does DJI have against it?

- Enable OTG or change the 5.8 GHz channel for RC connectivity with Android phone for Europe users.  
- Record photos to RAW.
- 25/30 fps video mode.

I think the spark is the most suitable drone for filming sport action, because of its low weight. It would be much more suitable if it were designed to follow the sportsman more effectively during his actions, with sensors on five of the sides and the sides of the drone and a thirty-minute flight duration, in this way it would not be useful not only to film the spectacular action, but also to correct himself during training phases.

Its use should be: activation with automatic follow me and record video, its home point should always be the athlete (dynamic home point), with an option to choose the distance to be followed.
It is not necessary to see the images in real time of the shot, it would be sufficient to see them after the drone has landed.

Need OTG cable support. My Spark is nearly unusable in WiFi mode.

obviously, prefer firmware to invoke:
1. raw camera footage (not baked jpg)
2. 25fps (for PAL)
3. D-log for video
4. Follow controller not follow me (I fish with camo gear & Spark will often "lose me" as I lack high contrast)5. 50fps (for smooth slo-mo)
6. 4k video (I think that's gunna be Spark2???)

I realise most would say, then you should have bought a Mavic - Mind you I would consider a paid upgrade (if not ridiculous price), rather than having to buy a new machine!

Adjustment for gimbal speed.

its tucked away in the DJI go app (at least on iOS, cant comment on other platforms)
select 3 dots ... (top RHS) of the screen
you will see various icons, however, if you scroll down there will be an option to adjust gimbal speed (the second last one from memory)

Is OTG support too much to ask for?

Gesture control on my spark never worked. Very disappointed. Only can take off, photo, other things, spark just plain dumb.

a manual flight mode selector would be nice. so recording under bridges, tunnels & piers would be possible / safe.
switching from film to photo to take a still has become a pain in the ass.

DJI GO 4 and SPARK

 

1. I miss profiles. Different setups changed with a button. Too much juice burned while changing settings like camera, stick sensitivity, modify buttons on RC etc.. Profile popup should be reached from screen while flying and (most importantly) after you hit "Go fly". Scrolling profiles on FN-button would be awesome.

2. I miss opportunity to do such changes "offline"... when RC and AC isn't power up..

3. I miss the opportunity to run simulator "offline" too..

 

I know most of these settings are stored in the Spark, but I see no technical difficulties by adding profiles.. It could be a confirmation box asking "You want to upload new profile to craft now?" Connection between them is obviously already established.

Hello I am a new drone user. I recently purchased the DJI Spark and I have to say so far the whole process has been a nightmare! I have an Iphone 5C and had no idea that it would not work with the drone. I went back and dug out my old Samsung  S5, downloaded the app as instructed, opened it and can not find the spark anywhere on the app. It literally has every other DJI model except for the Spark. I tried to uninstall it, reinstall it. I repeated that process a few times. I've read forums (including this one) watched tutorials and did everything that was advised. At first I was given a "Error 256", now I'm getting error "511". I do not have anymore to purchased another 6 or 700 dollar smart phone in the hopes that the $600 plus drone I purchased will finally work. If there anything I can do or have I purchased an almost $700 dollar paper weight?
