I have an IPhone 6s and I've exported a 32 sec. 4K video from Mavic to the DJI Go4 album using the app.

How did I get 4K video onto my iPhone Camera Roll?

There seems to be 2 ways to export the video to camera roll but neither method works.

1. Open the video and then click the export icon to save to camera roll. This doesn't work and I get an error message ( see below)


2. Open the album and select the video, click Manage and then export to iOS Camera Roll but I also get an error message. (See below)


Any suggestions or links to resources would be greatly appreciated.

In case you haven't tried, you could restart phone and Mavic and try again. For me that was the trick, though it takes a lot to transfer the videos.

Thanks. I have no problem transferring the 4K Video from the Mavic to the DJI GO4 album.

My problem is transferring the Video from the DJI GO album to the iOS camera roll.

I think the notification itself told you the cause: 4K or slow-motion or shorter-than-6-seconds. The reason here is because the video is 4K.

Why doesn't 4K Video work when it is saved from DJI GO App?

4K video plays back on IOS when I shoot in 4K on other Video apps or Native iOS camera.

I think the resolution info is not there properly on the file, I uploaded a 2.7k 40secs clip from off the card direct to youtube and it appeared as 380P with no options to change to HD or higher, I think if the recorded file doesn't have the values properly then it struggles to be given/played as it should be....

My iPad Air 2 is 1080P but everything I look at from on the app or edited is at 720P it would be good to get the app giving options re this especially as recorded in higher res

@RCNJ how do you know what the resolution info for my file?  Can you see it? The file I've tried to export was the "Original" File.

If I take sd card out and move files to pc if I click on one, windows doesn't show the dimensions. No I cannot see your files but I can see attitude, good luck.

Maybe you misunderstood my question or tone. I wasn't giving you a hard time. I honestly didn't know if I was missing something that would indicate my file size info. With DJI, it could be some obscure visual cue like a weird font, color, or shading to provide specific info. You never know.

I have not been able to get the original videos to download from the sd card to the dji go 4 app after the last few firmware updates.
Can you tell me what method you used as I just keep getting either the message you showed above or another one that says I can only download 720p or 1080p.

You are supposed to be able to use the icon on the lower-left corner to save to your camera roll. You might need to have set the video format to .MOV for it work on iOS, at least my 4K video shot from the iPhone saves in .MOV format.

@Jenee 2 - Unfortunately, I haven't been able to do download the 4k video to my phone, so I don't have a suitable method to do it.

I did a quick test and found I could not save 4K, but could save 2.7K. Using iTunes, I was similarly denied. I'm on an iPhone 7 running the latest iOS. Not sure what the difference is in Mavic 4K and iPhone 4K, but it's clearly not the Go 4 app's fault. Maybe iOS just can't handle the larger resolution of 4096 x 2160 Mavic vs. iPhone's 3850 x 2160?

I think it is a fault in the app because of the message that comes up saying only 720p or 1080p can be saved. This is rather ridiculous because it should be just a copy of data from the sd card to the phone/tablet. the app should not be deciding the resolution. I can play a 4k video on my ipad but can't download one with DJI Go 4 app.

I havent been able to save 4k to camera roll with any of the FW Versions. I did not know this was an option

You have to be a member and logged into that site to see those images. You might be able to add the images to this forum directly if your participation level is high enough already.

I tried downloading it from dropbox to my ios camera roll and but it gave me this message:  "Sorry this type of video cannot be saved to this device."

That's why I wrote I didn't think it was a problem with the Go 4 app, though Jenee 2 is right that the app's error message is inaccurate.

Yes I can and it plays.
I have to think that the DJI GO 4 app editor can't handle 4k so it simply won't allow the download of 4k files from the SD card into the DJI folder.  It would be interesting to know if Phantom Pro users find the same problem.

Huh, an older model than my iPhone 7, but maybe it has a better video processor? You could well be right that edit functions in the Go 4 app just can't handle 4K. This is another of those areas where some documentation would be helpful.

I wonder if anyone else is actually able to export 4k to Iphone 5/6/7. Or is it just me and Ex Machina that have the problem? ;)

It transfers over seamlessly but the 4k videos still wont play once the videos are saved in my camera roll.  I have to open Imovie on the phone or ipad to edit and then save in 4k. Then I am able to play the video on the phone/ ipad.

If I try save footage to device it gives the 4K error, but 2.7k saves ok...wired ?

Im still confused, the manual included with the mavic states 1080 is the highest resolution that can be transferred wirelessly , all others require pulling the SD card or using USB to transfer, the warning message above states cant transfer because its 4k or a number of other possibles.  Are you guys saying you can transfer 4k video from your mavic to IPad with SD card in the mavic?

If 1080 is the max, all mine that come out of editing on the app are 720p even if just added and outputted. should it be at least going out of the app at 1080P in that case ?
Recorded at 4K 30fps, clip in app shows as 720P on editing with Editor on Go 4 - shouldn't it at least output 1080 ?

@RCNJ i think the file that shows that it is 720p is the cached version not "Original" 4K version that you just shot. All cached versions are saved at 720p

Hi jamesw. Try 'Sync for DJI' app. This app allows download 4K video even in background. I find this app only for iOS https://itunes.apple.com/ua/app/sync-for-dji/id1255799480?mt=8 . Seems there is no version for Android yet
