No, the landing gear will lower automatically when the aircraft reaches an altitude of 0.8m.

You are fine , I find that it may sometimes ,but if yours it at half meter , you are fine. Keep in mind the retract feature will only work ONE time and after that you will need to raise the gear manually , it will then Auto retract .
