I'm definitely starting to enjoy my experience with the DJI Spark.  However my android phone might be limiting this with a not-so-bright display.  Curious as to which smartphone / tablet you use and why?  Great screen? Always reliable?  I'm not a fanboy to either camp so keeping it completely open.

The Spark doesn't seem to be well suited for the Android OS yet,  I fly all my DJI stuff with an iPad mini 4 with no issues.

I'm using the Samsung Galaxy S5 (Android 6) and have a great display with a screen bright enough to see broad daylight. I've seen several posts about connection between the RC and Android phones but that hasn't been an issue for me.

I'm using a Galaxy S8+ and my experience has been flawless so far.

I use an iPhone 7 with my Spark and Mavic and have never had a problem.  *knock on wood*

#2 with the iPad Mini 4 and just like @Tviscomi I've not a problem with disconnects or loss of signals.  I'm running on both iOS developer 10.3.3 Beta 5 and iOS 11 Beta 2 - and I was nervous first time I flew with iOS 11 as it's a very early Beta release, but both iPads have been secure and problem free.

I am using a galaxy tab s2, note 4 and ipad air all are communicating fine with my RC.

Motorola Nexus 6 . First I have issue with quickshots. After changing my phone resolution, everything is perfect now.

I use iPad pro 9.7 with OTG cable

I used Samsung Galaxy Active S7 - there are no problem with .0100 RC firmware.

OTG is not need.

On the Ipad Air's and Mini's,  how are you able to mount that to the RC for the Spark?  I wouldn't expect anything larger than a phablet to work.

I have a Galaxy tab s2 which is a similar size to Ipad mini and i fits great, trick is to locate one side first

I first used an iPad Mini 2.  Wanted something smaller so I bought an iPhone SE ($159).  Works great with the RC.

Interesting...are you experiencing any video lag?

I have 2 iPad Mini 4s - one for the Spark and one for my Mavic.
