Hi all,

What are peoples thoughts on "DJI Care" and how successful have you been with claims etc.? Would love to hear some opinions and any issues you have faced or are facing.

Thanks,
Nick.

I've had one claim. Bird came back repaired and looking like brand new. They even replaced some bits that weren't covered as they only had light cosmetic marks. Didn't charge me any extra. Turnaround was around 4 weeks.

I've not read into it deep enough yet ...but

- how did Shipping work for you. Is it all prepaid by Dji? It isn't exactly the cheapest thing to post and insurer
- did it ship back to them directly or to an authorised repaid center local to your country/location?

Thanks for the info. Really positive

DJI paid for everything inc shipping. They email you a label and you take it to a drop off point. They use DHL so plenty of drop off points and a very good courier too.
It would go to the DJI repair centre in the Netherlands from England

Keep in mind if you can't recover your bird your outta luck with DJI Warranty and DJI Care/Refresh.. IN the US get yourself a State Farm Personal Articles Policy they are available STANDALONE and cost 50-$60 a year for full coverage even if drone is lost.

I insured my P4P through a State Farm Personal Articles policy under an existing policy I have with them.  Cost was $60/year.  Per the conversation with my agent, should my drone be damaged or lost, they will pay for the repair or replacement with no deductible.  Additionally, if I were to loose the drone and not be able to find it, they would still replace it (no deductible).  This does NOT cover any damage that the drone might cause as the result of things such as hitting a car/house/power line/person.

Exactly no liability at this time

That's a good point ...lost drones is an issue there.  I need to find a compatible UK provider to your State Farm.

Thanks for pointing out.

A chap started a similar thread back in Jan and it appears Aviva is a candidate for total cover including loss in the UK. Will call tomorrow to confirm.

Just to update this thread for any UK interested folks...

I spent about 20min on hold while Aviva Techs discussed and interpreted their policy jargon. I can confirm it is all still relevant, the reply the chap got in the thread I posted above.

My main two questions...
- if I suffer mechanical or software failure causing a fatal loss of the drone itself
- if I suffer from the above OR I accidentally crash into a structure or fly it into the ocean and drone unrecoverable

In both instances, I'm completely covered.

Moreover, I'm covered for personal liability up to £1m if I fly the drone into my head. I also get Public Liability up to £1m ...but I'm a county member with BMFA so have PL covered anyway to a more satisfactory amount.

I'm super happy with what I've heard so far and so moving our Home&Contents over to them.

Cheers Nick

State Farm Insurance:  I tried a year ago to get coverage through and local agent said they had no such coverage. Then yesterday I called again and they indeed insure drones!  Full coverage with no deductible for $60.00 a year. I was preparing to go with DJI Refresh until I found this to be true. They even cover a lost or unrecoverable drone!  Almost too good to be true.

Thanks
Jim
