My biggest problem -- I can't see the damn iPhone screen. It's hopeless. Does that mean Goggles are a necessity? Sure seems that way. I'll have to save my pennies

And an iPad is better at displaying in sunlight? I took it to the beach one year and it sucked in the sunlight too

anything is gonna suck in direct sunlight. Sure you could get the goggles if you want but imo its over kill for the spark

get a sun cover

I was looking at that one yesterday. I wonder if my thumbs can work around that that hard 90.

Even a Samsung S8+ was not big enough for my old eyes so I bought an ipad mini 2 used for £130 and that works great even connects with OTG cable with no probs.

Sunshade is a good option, the goggles are not yet compatible try checking out these options: https://www.heliguy.com/blog/201 ... -pro-nvidia-shield/

Ok, I purchased a sunshade for my iPhone 6. I'll try that but doubt it will make the screen easier to see. If that doesn't work maybe I'll go for a mini-iPad. But what I'm trying to decide is if the mini iPad is being recommended on this forum because it's bigger when I'm actually more concerned about the sun blinding the screen. Any thoughts?

You are going to still have your same problem with an ipad. The ipad is only going to make the screen bigger...if sun glare is your issue you need to "remove the sun" either a shade or goggles

You have to remember the only camera on the Spark is the 2 axis gimbal no FPV style cam so using the goggles may be tricky when you lock out the gimbal in high maneuver turns and speed.
