Can someone please look at https://www.dropbox.com/s/0m0vj5 ... 6_08-50-06.DAT?dl=0 for me? Or tell me how I can look at it.

Yesterday my Spark lost connection shortly after takeoff. It was never more than 15 meters away from the controller. It returned home and hovered for awhile. After several minutes control was restored and I was able to agree to it landing.

No harm but I'd like to know what, if anything, I did wrong.

Should I submit the export file to DJI for analysis? If so, how?

Thanks.

Mike

If you want us to have a look here then easiest way is to follow link below and come back and post link.

Regarding dji you should sync your flight to dji cloud in your app, and then I would PM a mod and see if they can get an engineer to have a look at your log.

Sorry, I did upload it to phantomhelp but didn't know what to do from there. Here's a link. to the result . . . http://www.phantomhelp.com/LogViewer/ADC766KS5O5W5V4JQLTB/

Is that what you need?

Yeah that's it, you don't mention if it was phone or RC you were using , so guessing by your log it was phone. You lost signal twice, but your aircraft did what it was supposed to do. Within 20 meters if you loose radio signal for 20 seconds your aircraft will RTH hover at .3 meter and wait for your signal to land.

Why you lost signal, many things can cause this high usage in your area , position of antenna i.e. Should be vertical unless AC is directly overhead if this is the case then horizontal is the best place to receive signal.

I don't think there is anything wrong with your AC but you should get dji to check you log, you could always PM a mod here she/he will organise for you.

I would go to a different area and see if signal improves.
Good luck.

Sorry, I realize I actually gave you very little information. I was flying with the RC, with the iPad connected with cable. You make a good point about the antenna positioning. The drone was directly overhead, but I had the controller pretty much parallel to the ground, so the antennae were pointing vertical.

I will, as you suggest, PM a DJI moderator here. Thank you. Many thanks.

DJI is closed for the weekend, so I tried again. This time the Spark was up for quite a while but suddenly it began to descend and crashed into a bush--about 30 feet from the takeoff place. I've uploaded the log and it's at http://www.phantomhelp.com/LogViewer/BMLF7FT06XE565DRRU2J/

The log shows no disconnect.
