I requested a 16:9 option last year hoping it would be added, but I am not counting on it any more. I have no idea why this was not added to the Spark though, since all devices with a camera offer the 16:9 option, even all other DJI drones!
Sure. But given the fact that especially the Spark is a point-and-shoot device it should have the option to do this in-camera and not by requiring us to do post processing (which I hate). Being able to see what you get also makes framing images much easier. And like I said: literally all other devices provide this option so I see no reason why the Spark should be an exception. I put all my camera devices in 16:9 because its the most common screen ratio in TV/Monitor/Smartphones.
Does that apply to all iphones (only Android devices here)? Update: Unbelievable, but it looks like you can only take a 16:9 photo on an iphone using the capture button in video mode, or use a 3rd party camera app like Procamera.
also the cropping alternative is very lame, especially if you get your spark close to the subject and you really want to capture everything you have in the objective (why losing part of it later???)
