I wondered about dangling a small mirrored ball from the phantom. I don't actually OWN a small mirrored ball, so I'll probably never do it...
Any good ideas? Just for a photo op?

I flew my Phantom next to my ex wife one time,  she was faster and on a broom.

LOL... a mirror ball with LED spot lights angled to hit the ball would be COOL as a night flight!

I've got a skeleton with a robe hanging on the wall ready for next Halloween but I'm going to use 100 feet of fishing line for it so I'll be high enough not to be seen to easy.

I wonder if you could mod the Phantom in to something like the classic RC flying witch

How much does it weigh?  That would be so cool flying around on a hundred foot line.  You wouldn't need a prop on that.

I tried this one when there was trouble at a football game, but it caused a lot of vibration.

Did you know that the angle of what you dangle is proportional to the weight of what you've dangled provided you keep the lift of the Phantom constant!

Gerry I have to admit that is a great idea! I can't wait until Halloween. There is a place that will make custom drone banners for you for a business or whatever. A bit costly though.http://motorcitydroneco.com/collections/banners

I have a heavy dummy-grenade (hollow) which I purchased from a novelty catalog 16 yrs ago. I keep it on top of my woodburning stove.
I imagined it hanging 4' beneath the Phantom---then I imagined myself in jail, and on the news, as the biggest dumbsh*t that ever lived.
I left it on the stove. lol

I have thought of many things I would love to dangle from my quad but only if I could drop them when/where I wanted.  I feel confident you have enough imagination to get my drift.

Careful---if she reads this, something else might be dangling from your Phantom...and it'll probably fly away forever. But it's ok...you can use the "Find My Johnson" feature...

That's where I got the idea to have it flown.   It's going to be great with 2000 people there.

There's a video on YouTube of a guy that hung what looks like a white dress from his Phantom on Halloween then flew outside a high school football  stadium.  He lit it up with I think one of those 1.5" LED light arrays or some kind of light.  In any case it did look look like a GHOST flying through the night sky and the kids at the game were screaming, "LOOK!, LOOK!" loud enough you could hear it on his camcorder.

It looked real good and I was impressed and you will too if you can find it.  I looked again to put the URL here but couldn't find it again.

Gerry1124.  You'll have to let us know how well it works.  I would love to do it.  I live on a street next to the H.S. Football field.  I would only have to rise 100 feet and the people would see it if it glows or lights up!

Well,
Today i went out to fly my Phantom, all this time i thought he was a she, much to my surprise, he was, well, pretty well all there....kind of whistled while he flew and winced when he landed, i'll have to work on that...Guess calling it BirdBrain and BB for short had a bigger meaning!

Hey, my hummingbird feeder shot took a lot of time to set-up. Where's my pat on the back?

PS---that feeder (with nectar) weighed about 420 grams---almost a full pound.

I thought it was a red humpback swan below a parachute.

Looks great though!

I hooked up an external microphone to my GoPro and dangled it under my Phantom 2 to see what, if any difference it would make in the noise level.  Had the idea that if I could adapt it to some kind of parabolic reflector I might be able to pick up noises on the ground.  However, the adapter I was using did not turn off the internal mics so the results were disappointing.  Will probably try again later.
