Why would the Mavic Pro be able to record in 2.7K/4K resolution but the GO 4 app cannot edit the higher resolution content?  Not everyone wants to use video editing software on their computer.

Can this be fixed with a software update?

I think most phones as yet can't handle such high-res video for playback, much less for editing.

That's true, but as we move forward there will be plenty of devices that are capable.  I have an "OLD" LG G4 that records/playback in 4K.

Would it be that difficult to make the software capable of editing high resolution content?  I just use the 1080P setting now so that I can use the Go 4 app.  I really like it's simple functions that allows us to upload to social media.

My iPhone 7 records and plays back 4K video, but it won't play back Mavic 4K -- not sure if it's due to the Mavic's 4K being a larger-dimensioned video or higher-throughput, but both appear to be using the same codec and format.

I expect once a critical threshold of capable devices are out there that software will follow. Another thing to consider, though, is that uploading your finished 4K drone movie is going to take forever and isn't something most people will have the bandwidth allowance to do over their cellular connection, but wireless data speeds will continue to increase in the future as well.

DJI GO/ DJI GO 4 app doesn't support to edit footage above 1080P. This is due to the hardware settings. We suggest editing video via the video editor on the PC. Thank you for the kind understanding.

The editor on the DJI GO 4 app. And after the app update, DJI GO 4/DJI GO on some of the iOS devices can download and edited up to 4K videos (3840*2160), but it will also produce a 1080P video at the end.

Probably you need to transcode 4K footage to 1080p mp4, mov for editing in GO Pro 4 APP via the best 4K video converter: http://www.ilifecentral.com/conv ... converter-2018.html

This may be a dumb question.... but I'm going to ask anyway...   will the original 4k that is outputted to 1080p look better than the original 1080p?

May I know the specific model of your mobile device, some of the iOS devices might also not able to download 4K videos.

What do you mean by you connected cable to your drone?
How do you connect iPhone X to your drone? USB to Type C?

I personally use a PhotoFast 4K iReader for iPhone. It helps me transfer all file, include original 4K video files from microSD card to my iPad Pro.

I connect Mavic Air by cable which came together in Fly More Combo Box and than I use Apple usb to lighting OTG cable. I can import photos to mine camera roll this way, but not directly to DJI GO 4 app.

Thanks for the clarify.

WIthin DJI GO App, there are 4 tap in the bottom.
Under the 2nd tap (Editor), you should see right on the top, Album and Create. Plz click on Album.
Then you should see an icon on the top left corner, where you can import media files from
(1) On-board SD
(2) Local Photos
(3) Local Videos
(4) DJI Display

Once you imported, you can switch to the Create tab, and edit your video.
Please note, once you finished edit all your videos, DJI GO App can only allow your export your final work in 1080P. not 2K, not 4K

Personally i use another great app call "LumaFusion" on my iPad Pro.
It's got almost everything you need and the editing speed is faster than my 2014 MBP.
Best part is, i can export to my camera roll or Youtube in 4K and have many FPS option to choose from.

Sorry for the confusion. For Mavic Air, it is not able to download resolution greater than 1080P since the download speed is very slow. So please kindly export to PC first.

Hi I am new to Mavic air. I shot videos I selected 4K for and recorded to my phones memory. But the images in the go 4 app are 1080/720. Is there any way I can get the 4K footage from my phone for editing on a computer? I have an iPhone X

To download 4K files, 2,7K, h.265 or RAW files to iPhone or Android phone I recommend you use Sync for DJI app. This app works with all file types and DJI drones

Easiest way for converting the 4k files are through VLC media player!
