Same question from this newbie Seems like it used to work great, but with new updates, maybe no longer necessary? I just want to get started in the smartest, most efficient way. Thanks!

The Amazon page specifically says that this cable is NOT for the Spark. Did you find some other info that led you to purchase?
Thanks
??? I thought the page said it work for the dji spark too

I have tried both OTG and wifi, there is no difference, spark to RC is working like a dream for me, and no cables is something I don't miss.
I agree there is NO difference, I use Wi-Fi for connecting.
The controller is still connected to the drone. It's only Wifi to the controller not Wifi to the drone if you got the drone w/ controller package. I couldn't connect it to the drone w/o the controller. The Spark does not have it's own Wifi. When I try to download footage from the drone, OTG and no OTG is still the same. It still DCs or drops. I just take it out of the drone and use the micro adapter to Note 9.
OTG is more of a Hassle as the Note 9 is big and requires more intricate maneuvering to make it "sit".
Just need to make sure the Switch to mobile data is ticked off in Wifi settings or it will switch to Mobile disconnecting the Spark especially when it tries to download a Software update but can not.

Exactly we use OTG for lag free video. If anyone uses a larger screen like an ipad the difference is even more obvious.
Mine has the Same amount of lag with OTG or Wifi but it's a Note 9 so it's a better Wifi system I think.
