Hi,

after updating to latest firmware and about two flights my gimbal suddenly failed. It was working properly till I switched the spark off after carrying it inside, but I the next time switching on it just stayed dead and DJI GO just tells Gimbal gyroscope error. Also calibrating Imu and compass did not help.

Going back to older firmware gives Gimbal overload error and the gimbal is shaking after startup.

Only here I noticed that the Gimbal is working totally fine when the spark is started up upside down with firmware 0400.
So somehow I suspecting that this is only a firmware problem.

Did anyone else experience something similar? I opened now a repair request but I can only send it after two weeks as I'm going into vacation now and also plan to use the spark now with that workaround.

Please try to re-upgrade the firmware of the drone, if it still not works, please help to export the files from Black Box including the upgrade log and upload it to Dropbox for analysing.

Error disappears if I use DJI GO 4.1.3 app

I will do more tests today

interesting. yea i had a gimbal gyro error after a nasty crash..  however right after the crash it was 100% ok.. picked it up and the camera still followed me.. it wasn't till after i shut spark off, pulled battery and replaced it for full battery, before i was having gimbal gyro error...

i thought for sure it was software based as well.. because i know after the crash i was doing testing the camera was self leveling and compensating. it even worked after reboot..    it just failed after battery swap out.

i know my crash was nasty it took a face plant from 80+ feet.  but yea it worked upon picking it up...i swear

I tried again ugrading to 0500 but still the same error. During updating the Gimbal is moving heavily as well.

Still when going back to 0400, the Gimbal works fine when the Spark is started up-side down.

If the message had not appeared again and you can run the drone normally, it might just be a false warning.

I think the error came out because, I turned the drone upside down while it was on.

Yes problem persists but I'm still flying it all the time, I only switch it on upside down.
I have a repair request open already and will send it back as soon as I'm home next week.

I was today about to send my Spark back to Amazon but tried the new Firmware update first.
Even before updating to .600, there was a short updating process in DJI Assistant 2 and after that, the Gimbal is fine again!

Also now after upgrading to .600 it is still fine after every restart. So still this is seen as a hardware issue and I should send it back?
