Hi,

Since the firmware update, I have had trouble with the gimbal going a bit wild. Here is an example (the gimbal was locked in DJI GO 4)



It starts about 10 second in (although there is a weird wobbly look to the video just as it starts too) Any ideas what could be causing it or how to fix it? Since the previous flight, all I had done was a firmware update and an IMU calibration (because I was having touble with it slowly loosing height when flying forwards so wondered if it would fix that).

I have a similar (but not identical) issue with the gimbal occasionally glitching very rapidly left and right to make the image look blurred. It passed in about 1 second but can happen several times in a single flight and makes any video unusable. I decided to wait for updates to firmware, etc and if it's still doing it take it up with DJI.

I am using Android with Go 4.1.3 (latest version available to me). Latest firmware applied to Spark, RC and batteries.

I would love to. As I mentioned above, I am using Android and 4.1.3 is the latest version currently available to me.

i misunderstood, i don't see where you say its the latest version just that that's the one you use. i wonder why you don't see 4.1.5?

I think it's conning soon. Some people saying maybe tomorrow. As i see it this isn't a huge problem so I'm going to wait and see if updates improve it before contacting DJI

try 4.1.3(i don't have error gimbal in this version and latest FW AC and RC)

i have error with use 4.1.4 or 4.1.5 (ios device)

gimbal overload...but today test RTH

Is yours giving you a gimbal error like the attached picture. Also are you able to tilt the gimbal?  

Mine was giving me these problems when I updated to new firmware. When I downgrade gimbal works fine.

Mine didn't show any errors as far as I noticed..

Was it a windy day when you were shooting this video? Have you tried to shoot a video when there is no wind? If yes, how is it going? If it is the same, please export the flight data of the drone for analysis, thank you in advance.

Looks like the sensor which is inside the gimbal has been affected during the upgrade process, so you've got this error. Have you tried to re-upgrade it again?

ios is 4.1.5 (latest, out 28 Jul 2017)
android is 4.1.4 (latest, out today 31 July 2017)

8/1/17 Update...I thought I had, but I hadn't performed the latest update!!  The AC is operating much better now..the gimbal is much more responsive and it adjusts more readily to yaw moves, etc. so I highly recommend the update.The camera is having trouble 'keeping it's head up.'  I get a 'Gimbal Motor Overload' warning...AC is fully upgraded and this happens with no wind, sometimes not moving, in sport and non-sport modes.

That's what I did - the file I sent via dropbox (DJI_ASSISTANT_EXPORT_FILE_2017-08-01_17-56-23) was 295Mb - is that not the right one?

It is one of them, as you can see in the video, we need all of the data, flight controller data, black box data and flight controller log data. Thank you for your cooperation.

Thanks, got it, I've forwarded it to our engineers for analysis, will get back to you once I got a reply from them.

I have been trying all I can to get it working again as it isn't much use for video at the moment. I've tried:
Refreshing the few
Loading factory defaults
Using my Kindle to control it
Rolling back to 1.00.0400 few

No joy I'm afraid. I go on holiday next weekend -the main reason I bought the Spark - so I hope we can get it sorted before then. Thanks for your help.

Many thanks for your reply. I can't see any obstruction but I have used a can of air (air duster) to try and clear it though. I will try and fly it during my lunch break. I did a little video of the gimbal after blasting it with air - I wondered if the motor was trying to drive past the end stop? At 35 seconds and 40 seconds, if you turn the volume up on the sound, I think you can hear the motor driving even though the gimbal is at the limit:

Interesting - it does look similar to my issue. Have you tried rolling back to the older version like I did? Do you see something similar to what I see if you fly straight up and down?

not yet but I am going to do it right away, I tried different settings but same issue. I will roll back to the previous version and will tell you

I still have the issue after rolling back to the previous FW on both the Aircraft and the RC, very weird.

I actually made some other test and on some video I don't have the glitch. I will inspect how it works for the next few days and decide what to do

HELP,HELPHELP,HELP, CAN SOMEBODY CAM HELP ME PLEASE AFTER MAKING THE LATEST UPDATE to my dji spark, the gimbal cannot connected to the Remote controller I cannot see any video

Why doesn’t DJI give us more gimbal controls and calibrations.  Modded DJI go 4 apps allow a lot of customizations for the gimbal and even change calibration, force it to self center and recalibrate (ideal for filter attachments) and not to mention, you can apply mavic  pro’s various metering to sensor  in modded app and it fixes the sparks very poor center only metering in auto mode.
