I bought this one of Amazon, but haven't had a chance to try it yet.  It's come down to £20 now - it was £25.50

Its only overpriced to people that cant afford it.
If you spend the best part of £900 on the Phantom, then another £79 for a car charger is not a lot to ask.
Personally I run 3 flight batteries so have no desire to charge out in the field.

I know what we are talking about, my question was about the price, not the item.  What amount is too expensive?

The way you've worded it, I'd say 'neither'....... It's not what I'd call a good deal, but neither is it ludicrous. ;-)

FWIW, I don't trust cigarette lighter connections for anything more than keeping a phone charged. I haven't measured the current draw on the 110 charger, but given how warm it gets, I'd guess the battery is drawing pretty hard. Not sure I'd want that kind of juice being pulled through what is, undoubtedly, one of the worst design standards in history! What genius decided it would be a good idea to make a connection to a spring that *wants* to push the connection apart!?..... ;-)

Cheers,
Ian

i have a 150 watt inverter for $10 and now a new 500 watt inverter for $40.  The 150 watt inverter can charge one battery in the regular charger,.  the 500 watt inverter can charge a battery plus the RC unit and FPV monitor, all at the same time.  I have six batteries and can pretty much fly continuously when the need arises which it did this past weekend.  I think i made the right choice.

What's the point of what is essentially a self-answering poll?  "Many people use..." and "Most of them would prefer..." and "...astonishing cost..."  You've clearly already spoken on behalf the majority.  Really no point to this poll.  I don't see where anybody's real opinion has any place here.

The item has a cost.  Only you can decide its value.

Would I use the OEM 12VDC Car charger instead of my current set-up with inverter and the AC charger if the price would be around equal to the AC charge --- likely yes, less cable salad and less connections that could fail.
Do I find the OEM car charger overpriced - Yes the price is too high for a Voltage/Power regulator.

You may want to try this.  I paid $25 for one.  I have had one of these for a long time.  Mostly to recharge my laptop but it works for this purpose too.  Also, you can use it for other times too.

Your points here will get you nothing.  It's the credit if 1% of what you buy at the DJI store that will knock down the price.

I voted "Yes" and I have two P2V+ and five batteries and can afford it but I still think it is over priced.
Wait...The more I thought about it I can afford it therefore it most not be over priced. What was I thinking?? I want to change my vote to "No"

Ok, it is a bit loaded. The point of the poll is just to bring it to the attention of DJI.

What I paid for my phantom is irrelevant. This charger should be about $20 tops. The sum of it's parts is probably $5. I don't imagine they sell that many. I wonder why?

i think 100 is too much but i think 20 is too little.  to me, i would find 35-40 a reasonable price (just my feelings not saying you or others should feel the same).

If you have to ask how much it is, you could not afford it.

This is a question of value, not cost.

To me, the value of an in-car charger is not that great i.e. if I had one, I wouldn't use it very often, therefore the price I would be prepared to pay is lower than someone that would use it frequently i.e. get more value from it.   Therefore I consider that price to be expensive.
