My P4 disconnected during a flight. I am flying with latest iOS and latest DJI Go4 app. The ipad disconnected from the controller while the aircraft was about 1200 ft in the air. Just before the controller disconnected I saw that it started to land because the battery was at 25%. I lost visual of the aircraft and I believe that it landed in a cornfield some 1300 ft away from me. Unfortunately I do not have a last known location of the aircraft. When the iOS device lost communication with the controller I believe that I was still flying it manually (trying to get it back to me). Would the controller have the last known location of the aircraft stored on it? How can I retrieve that information if the iOS device was not connected to the controller? There is about 41 acres of cornfield that I am searching through. Would be very helpful if I could get a last known location from the aircraft. I do have a tech support case # for this issue. Just awaiting analysis of the flights logs from DJI support at this point. I am currently on vacation and I need to leave in a couple of days so time is of the essence here if there is any hope to retrieve the aircraft!

In DJI Go 4, have a look at the flight records. This is accessed by tapping on the three line icon at top right of main screen
from there select 'Flight Record', then drag bottom of page up to see list of records. Pick the record you want (If it has recorded it, which might not if App' crashed).
When you playback you will see the Latitude and Longitude co-ordinates on control panel. From there you will at least get the last recorded position.

thanks i have looked there. strange is that this location is different than the "find my drone" last location. which location would be more accurate?

I don't know why they would be different, check both locations if they are meaningful.

I would recommend you to check the GPS location of your last flight record. Could you PM me your case number? I'd like to check the current status. Thank you.

Haha don't think that I haven't thought of that I am sure that it will be found when the harvesting begins in a couple of months. I was just hoping to get it back in one piece and in working order. Not sure this is going to happen, though. It is truly like looking for a needle in a haystack. I have several hours invested in the search already.

I am a bit frustrated that I created my case on Monday 7/31 asking for a flight analysis. It's now Friday 8/4 and I still don't have the analysis. I was hoping to find the aircraft before it rained. Well we had a pretty large storm last night so I fear that if I do find the aircraft it will be destroyed. I called into DJI several times asking them for urgent support to help me locate the lost drone. It seems that RTHF failed to work in this case. I am anxiously awaiting the flight analysis, although I am not sure that the analysis will provide me any new information.

Too late for this one but have a look at Trackr (or similar). A small button glued to the aircraft with Bluetooth connectivity to your phone would tell you if you were in Bluetooth range  (20- 100 Metres).

Hello Zhenders,

Yes, the reaction time is horrible. I'm afraid the harvested will destroy the toy. U must find before. Did u checked the flypath in your app? At least it is a small change to get a close by area, less then 200m

I wouldn't find even my logs... I just checked.. the apps generating so much files, every update gust some new comes and old stays. I found dji log files straight in my root directory, it's a huge mess. Best will be to deinstall all do stuff and delete all by and. That needs hours. Who pays my time it's soo easy to programm clean routine to avoid this.
