This is frustrating. I can't fly my drone more than 5 minutes. When reaches a distance like 400m, starts to lose signal and the RTH automatically send the drone back to me. In some areas, did the same but whith 76m!!

Before that, I loose image signal, so I can't see what I am filming.

I tried to fly the drone in diferent areas, even diferent regions of my country.
I upgrade both, drone and RC.

But stills doing the same.

I found that my longest flight was 8 minutes, and 390m, and I read that Spark can achieve almost 2km. I always can see the drone, and I can't film anything interesting because when I reach the point when I want to start filming, it cames back! I leave a capture of my flights.

So frustrating.

I would like to know if this happened to someone, or my drone is not working well.

what about the settings on the application? do you have any limitations there?

You live in Spain, Europe. Your spark is doing great reaching 400m distance!

2km are just archieved on EUA and other countries.

Max Transmission Distance of Spark:

2.412 - 2.462 GHz (unobstructed, free of interference)

CE = EUROPE           FCC= EUA

FCC: 1.2 mi (2 km); CE: 0.3 mi (500 m)

5.745 - 5.825 GHz (unobstructed, free of interference)

FCC: 1.2 mi (2 km); CE: 0.18 mi (300 m)

Its europe laws, not DJI faulty.

In short, you live on Europe, your max distance is >500m< if you are on 2.4ghz band or >300m< you you are on 5.8ghz band.

if there were limitations the drone would just stop and not go further, it would not RTH!

The CE limit is only software .. no hardware ..

Then? It can unlock illegally ........ obvious.

But we do not need it.
Also in italy in certain zones at 120mt I miss the signal.

In other areas not far away (4km) arriving at 800mt /1km.

You are getting good results with your Spark. In EU if you want more distance you will have to buy Mavic or mod the Sparks RC but because battery life is not so good I don't see a point in doing so tbh.

I don't want to fly the drone that far, but 70m it's nothing! and 500mm well.. it's not that bad, but when you are in a mountain and to reach the valley... it's not enough.

But as Thor1 says, if there is some legal issues, the drone should stop, no make a RTH....

So. I have to move to EUA! haha

the hardware is the same globally in the spark.. the limitation is actually software side, and FCC mode vs CE mode handled by the app..  not the spark believe it or not!   

that means if you live on the illegal fridges of your law, you could install a modified variant of the DJi go 4.1.4 app that allows forced FCC mode and other things.  i cannot provide links or tutorials here, it is against the rules..  right now it is difficult to find them, but there are a few DJi modding communities that are very excited for the spark's capabilities!    its amazing how much DJi has limited the spark for now..  i am hopeful however that Dji will open it up and give us more things

The issue is that in EU wifi transmission power of RC and Spark is very limited as opposed to other territories. This means you will lose your signal much quicker and easier thus it will trigger RTH.

So yeah. You have no other choice but to move to USA ;)

Here in Spain the limitation is 120m hight and a 600m radius from the operator.
I didn't know the drone stops if you break the law. I do knew that the drone, doesn't take off in the areas that it can't, but it's strange that returns to homepoint....
