We went to Cancun on the 4th of July and the Mavic performed great.
This video was filmed with The Mavic,GoPro 3, Sony A7rii and my LG V20 Cell phone.
The timeLapse are done with the Sony A7Rii.

It was hard getting down to a seven minute edit, i also realized i needed shots that i missed during the trip.

No problems at all coming or going, I carried the avic on board in a small case with 3 batteries.

The sunrise Mavic video a 1:24 was breathtaking in person and the Mavic surprized me with its low light capability. I filmed that in 4K and down converted to 1080P at export.
The original 4K file is so much better on a 4k screen, it was just as i remember it in person.

Awesome work. Headed to Cancun in September but can't bring myself to take the P4P.

Mostly just the idea of running into trouble with the local authorities. I'm new to the drone world and the idea of possibly losing $2k in equipment is a little scary to me. I own a travel agency so it would be extremely beneficial to me but also that's given me a great deal of experience with how weird things can get when visiting other countries. I already have clearance from several of the resorts in the area so I haven't given up on the idea.

I've read numerous threads on the topic and it seems like most people are having no trouble and that's encouraging.

I was nervous also, but after reading threads on Cancun and taking drones i found all positive post.
You will regret not taking the Mavic when you see other drones flying around and you missing all the beautiful Cancun sunrise and sunsets.

It's a P4P, that's a lot of kit to try and carry around on a vacation.  

Looks like you were staying right next to the Bel Air hotel. I've been to Cancun many times with my P3 and even the Mavic. No problems anywhere at all.

i've taken my P3P to cancun four times. Zero issues.
