I'm kinda mad that I bought the spark FM combo and I get this bs that's probably so much better performer now no one will buy FM combo spark unless it's for portability or color pretty much thanks a lot DJI

I disagree, I bought my Spark because it's a fun capable little quad.  I don't think a Phantom 3 with some sensors and a better camera would have swayed me from buying it.  With that being said, this is a good price for a proven platform.

I've just bought one from TomTop !
For 447€ ($525), I have :
- Phantom 3 SE.
- 4k camera.
- 4km range (2,5 milles !) with 720p video return.
- Vision positionning
... all that with the (now proven) reliability of the Phantom 3 plateform !

The SE permit me to enter in the DJi's world for less than 600 bucks !, with a good drone and 2 additionnal batteries (I was precedently the owner of an UpAir One)... Just unbeatable !
I can't, unfortunately, afford the price of a Phantom 4, nor Phantom 3 Adv/Pro (that are not manufactured anymore and have a bigger price...).

So if you ask you "why does DJi come back to Phantom 3, instead of purposing only Phantom 4"... it's for all my previous argumentation... ;)
Unfortunately, everyone cannot pay 1500€ for a drone...
So, until the P3 SE, these people went to other brands (UpAir, Hubsan, Yuneec, ...). With the SE, DJi has a REAL argument to take back these customers ! And that's a REALLY good strategy !

You know, if customers can't afford a DJi's drone, then probably won't save money during X months... and 90% will buy another brand !
The people that can afford a Mavic of Phantom 4, will continue to buy Mavic or P4 (they probably wont't be interested by the P3 SE)... But all the others...

personally, its  not the price that puts me off about the phantom series... its the design...  beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all.  so it is what ot is..   technology wise, phantom series is on its own level.. im glad to see Dji offering these packages and finding a unique way to remain competitive and get people's feet into the door with Dji....

Fore sure it fly well but the range is a delusion...

hum, that's a tempting drone, when you want to add a little brother to your P4 or Mavic. Much better than the spark, with a controller included in the price.

The P3 SE looks like the P3 4K but with the P3S controller but a stronger WIFI connection. I got my P3 4K for the same price as the P3 SE, so I don't need to change anything, but considering I like my P3 4K, I would easily recommend the P3 SE to someone as their first DJI drone or an upgrade from an older Phantom 1 or 2.

Hi have you selected no limit range? My SE too doesn't go over 450/500mt but here in Europe we have limited power signal.....

Some UK retailers starting to take orders now by the looks of it.

Not sure why you wouldn't just get a Phantom 4 or Mavic though in all honesty...

Phantom 3 SE is DJIs  answer to the Xiaomi Mi Drone WIFI FPV With 4K. They are in the same price range, and with almost same specs.

in Thailand area which all low rise houses less interfernce and it does go more den 3km in flight..

uninstall your GO app...reinstall it... SIGN IN after done so (internet Wi-Fi / 4G ) aka logon to your DJI account...try it again...there are certain threads on this issue which u can't fly more den 50meters away from u....or in height.

I see your point, but the 4K, Advanced and Pro are equipped with lightbridge and a more advanced controller and have higher prices. The SE is basically a Standard with vision positioning and 4K added. Even the camera looks exactly like the Standard camera, with no changeable filters on the lens or extra ventilation on the gimbal.

Actually the Phantom 3 4K did not have light bridge.  It was WiFi just like the standard except it had the P3P camera.  So essentially this is an updated P3 4K.  Not sure what the rationale was other than they must have had a bunch of spare parts.
