I managed to shatter the cover to the camera(see attachments) on my spark after having it drop from 3 floors up onto cement and it appears to have landed on the camera. 99.9% pilot error, don't try to fly your Spark through a window open only 10 inches. The Spark freaked out and kept trying to rise in altitude repeatedly running into the bottom of the open window pane and eventually stopping its rotors and falling out of the window.

Amazingly gimbal and camera still work fine but I am worried it will crack more and affect the image. Is it possible to get a replacement and to replace the lens cover?

Thanks for your help!

That looks like it was a nice good crash.  Can we see the video?

As for the covers, DJI can send them out but last I heard they were in short supply at times.

99.9% pilot error I would say 100% pilot error.  What do you think?

i don't think it really matters, he/she already said it was his/her fault so who really cares. your clearly on here to put people down. as far as i'm concerned no one got hurt so that's all that matters.

putting any body down? it was just a matter of somebody else stepping in, but that is your own little opinion.  It is just people are sick and tired always blaming DJI for their mistakes.

Please let's get some video posted so we can rule out that last 0.10% that was left open by the OP.  Hell at this rate we'll have new firmware from DJI before we see the video, and that's pretty sad!

Hi everyone -

OP back here. I put 99.9% pilot error because I know I am to blame for the accident but the drone was behaving strangely. Not sure if this is technically 100% pilot error or what the official rules are. Happy to take 100% blame.

I went back to review the flight on my flight log and can see for roughly 5 seconds before the flight ended I was holding 100% "descend" on my remote control. As I said originally the drone ascended into the bottom of the window at least twice before shutting off the rotors and falling. At no point during the flight did I use the ascend function from my remote.

Unfortunately, there is no video. The recording was not on when I crashed.

I will contact DJI support to see if I can get replacement parts and post back here when I get a response.

Because this I have just bought
http://www.ebay.com/itm/142451472025

Also I have had another problem with the gimbal, the screws are not tight (I sent the spark to the technical service beacuse the gimbal and the internal fan that make noise), so I think is mandatory protect the gimbal

I bought this with the lens/sensor protector kit from amazon....I wouldn't recommend this if you are doing Pano, other than that it works fine

the drone is roughly 3" tall opening was probably close to 15"

Was still apparently not a great idea.

Repaired by DJI and back with me now.
