I am blown away... Galaxy s8+, RC, no connection drops.  I could have pushed it further, but at over 7200 ft, I pressed RTH.  This thing is revolutionary for amateur videography... I can't wait to post up some of the footage I have gotten, once I get the chance to process it.

What's the max distance you have gone over water?

furthest i gotten was just around 1 mile. i haven't tested water, just my farm.   but most of my flights are around 2,000 - 4,000 feet.  most my flights are occurring in city outskirts and suburbs.

just side note, trees suck..  they seem to be biggest killer of signal i encountered yet, and i have flow my spark around highly congested wifi areas, but at my farm if i go wrong way and cross into the deep backwoods, i lose signal within 500-750 feet easily.  even at near 400 AGL and well above the trees.  but across modern landscape it doesn't matter, i dont know how to explain it.

Oracle-- I brought it up to the max altitude pretty quickly.  I was at 397 ft. for nearly the duration of the flight.

I will post up the video soon, I am encoding it right now.  Not much to look at, but it is instructive as to how far the Spark can go over water.

I think I could have pushed it to 10,000 ft. out if I really tried, and was in a slightly better spot on the bluffs of the beach.  I flew it out at max speed 32+ mph in sport mode, then brought it back with RTH at about 20-22 mph.

I went out 9300 ft today in my spark and regularly can get 1-1.4 miles in non populated areas.

In Environments it really suffers IMO

Yes, trees do suck big time. At least I'm not the only one who has noticed this. I live in mountainous area (small 2000-4000 feet)  and as soon as a tree line gets between the Spark and the RC the signal drops substantially. I can only go a few hundred feet if I fly just above the tree line. For longer distances I have to climb to at least 500 - 1000 feet AGL  just to go 1500 - 2000 feet.

Ya it’s weird how quickly trees knock signal out vs things you would expect to not play nice.. got more range out in the city outskirts than I did back of my farmland.

Maybe tomorrow but I don’t I am going to test what started earlier today (yesterday at this point for me on east coast) before light failed me. And I’m going to test how far I can get the spark to go on single pack in full sport.. I have an idea.. 4.8 miles to a friends place, get in my car and annoy people doing 30 mph lol.. issue is though my car is fairly sealed up from signals.. so probably not much more then 1000 feet line of sight if I put antennas on glass..but if I track it and push it on above everything, it maybe possible...

You should see what trees are doing when you are flying in Europe, so the drone and the RC switches to crappy CE compliant  transmission power

Here is another.  This one I was close to shore, spotted a yacht passing by.  I threw the Spark in Sport Mode and had it out to 5000-6000 feet from shore while I was following this boat for a bit, then RTH.

Sport mode is awesome...
