I just upgraded my Phantom RC Assistant Software to v1.2 and  to Phantom 2 Vision+ Assistant Software to v3.8 but my P2V+ will not connect to the RC Assistant software, but  I can connect to the P2V+ assistant software. I want to calibrate my controller.  I used to be able to connect on the older version. I am using Mac anybody knows why? I would appreciate some feedback. Thanks

drone7...the Phantom does not, nor has it ever, nor will it ever connect to the RC Assistant software, no/not/nada ever going to happen!
The Phantom only connects to the Phantom Vision Assistant for firmware and flight characteristic changes and lots of other cool stuff, different modes etc. and with the Phantom Vision Assistant there is a provision to do basic RC calibration in there as well if the RC is turned on as well while the Phantom is turned on and plugged in.,,Whew!
The RC Assistant lets you do RC calibration (providing RC is plugged in) as well and allows you to update the RC firmware..
If there is any part of this you did not understand, please let us know...
There is a great guide you should review if you have not already done so...you can download it here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/mv8d1h ... ry%20Guide.pdf?dl=0  You can also check out Phantomhelp.com as there are numerous good links on there as well.
Please report back and let us know how you made out..

Thanks for the reply. Sorry but I'm still confuse because before the upgrade in the previous PV assistant v3.6 and RC assistant v1.1 I was able to connect to both PV assistant and RC assistant software . I understand what you are saying that I can calibrate the controller in the PV assistant, but how come now my PV2+ quadcopter with the cable connected to my Mac can only connect to PV assistant software and when I click the RC assistant it will not even recognize my P2V+ quadcopter. Are you saying that I don't need the RC assistant software anymore? since I can do everything in the P2V assistant software? Please elaborate on this matter. Thanks

That is not what I said,
P2V Assistant is for Firmware Updates on the Phantom only! and for Phantom Calibrations and....today only...as an added bonus, just for you, the Phantom Assistant will also allow you to calibrate the RC when the RC is on WHILE the Phantom is still plugged in and connected to the Phantom Assistant.
The RC Assistant is used when you only need to calibrate your RC and if you need to update the RC firmware (the Phantom Assistant does not do firmware upgrades for the RC!!, hence RC Assistant)....that is all the RC Assistant is used for. NOTHING ELSE!....The RC Assistant has absolutely nothing/zero/zilch/nada else to do with connecting to the Phantom...THE PHANTOM DOES NOT CONNECT TO THE RC ASSISTANT!...
Hope that clears it up and PLEASE DOWNLOAD THE GUIDE I posted with the earlier post...and listen to Gerry1123, he is my mentor and I am being graded and about to loose valuable Credits if I am unable to get my point across without using a bad analogy...

Northofthe49th and Gerry1124,

Sorry my ignorance! It's been a while since I plugged this  in my computer. The last time  I flew this bird was around October. Thank you for the  detailed explanation, now it all came back to me. I have to plug it in separately to my PV2+ and Remote control. The winter here in Jersey kept me from flying can't wait for warmer weather to come. Again, thank you!

We have the 10th Mountain Div. here at Fort Drum.  The reason I asked was the 10th is one of the most deployed divisions in the Army.  1 out of 3 brigades is constantly gone.
