Does the Phantom battery have a water sensor circuit that makes the battery inoperable when the battery gets wet? Or, does the battery stop working after getting wet from one of many electronic parts failing after getting wet? I only ask because a few months ago my battery got wet and stopped working so I disposed of it, even though it still showed a full charge on the multimeter.

Pilots don't know such things, they fly instead. All they need to know is that liquid water or moisture inside battery may - and eventually will - cause an catastrophic failure during flight. You must ask mechanics in your hangar how this protective behaviour works ...

I would recommend you do not allow the battery to contact water. The watered battery may even lead to an axplosion.
