5.8ghz band possible cause?

Dear users,

I Think this one is for DJI support.
I have been thinking about the 5.8ghz band Dji uses these days, as a wireless specialist for 8 years i know that the 5.8ghz frequency is also used for radar systems.
(boats, airplanes but also more radar applications.)
Maybe there is an connection between 5.8ghz signal loses and radar systems, at least for the European market.
Once my I2 arrives i can do a spectrum analysis with my €8k spectrum analyzer from Aaronia and the I2. ( radar systems are clearly visable in the spectrum, and these signals are strong )
Your thoughts?

Kind Regards, Erwin Kats.

I know, but you know just as us that DJI still does not confirm the issue.
Had the same with my P4P, but DJI does NOT confirm the issue.

There's definitely a lot of truth to what you're saying. I'm curious to hear your results.

If your Inspire 2 is not at the latest firmware, I would love to know how the signal is on the older ones. (And on the new one in comparison, but I would recommend you not to upgrade to the latest.)

We are dealing with serious signal quality issues since the latest update. Trying to scramble for a solution, as this investment has now turned into a bit of a flop. I would give anything to have the same performance that I had only a month ago.

As I drove last week to a DJI AUTHORIZED repair dealer , 2 hours drive each way to help me roll back the firmware with his personal dealer version of Assistant 2 software .. dealers also  now don't have the means to roll back firmware any longer for the Inspire 2 .

The dealer/repair station confirmed a email from DJI directly , this was a intentional range reduction in the range of the Inspire 2 , makes my blood boil as well .

I will say again intentional range reduction , and DJI KNOWS !!

Direct from the dealer

paraviz02, i had the same with my P4P, after the update I couldn't even fly further then approx 300 feet.
Once it will arrive I will look which firmware is in the I2, if its a previous firmware I will do a measurement with the spectrum analyzer.
With danger for my own I2 (lol), I will update the firmware and do a measurement again.
I will share the results with you, there could be several reasons why the range is reduced.
But I will find something, ill post as soon as I know something !

nazar404.yahoo WoW, if they said it, why would tech support won't tell the people then, I didn't find any topic were some one of DJI tech said it.

I wonder if it's intentional as in deliberately reduce range, or as in intentional as in try and tweak the transmission but stuff up the range as a side effect / byproduct?

Not sure, but seems like DJI Inspire 2 owners in USA are having a serious time with the new firmware. Not sure where else.

Whatever it is, DJI needs to come out and be completely upfront about what it is we are dealing with. For all that we have to work with, the only thing we can legitimately conclude is that either: a) DJI's engineers are completely incompetent (which we know to be false); or b) DJI has done something on purpose for some specific reason, and are not at liberty to talk about it.

Either way, it is complete garbage. I would do anything to get my Inspire 2 firmware downgraded to something that isn't total junk.

DJI have done this before - released app/firmware updates that kill range, speed and ability to do dual controller ops. (Inspire 1)
They will not admit or acknowledge the fact - mainly due to consumer protection laws in many countries.

I want to return mine back and I can't, it's not what we purchased, up to 4.3 miles lol that's funny. I can get VO and legally fly beyond LOS with a waiver but it won’t go 1000' anymore.  Can we get DJI to roll this back for commercial licensed pilots?

My I2 hasn’t arrived yet, this is a screenshot of the spectrum analyzer I use.
Once it arrives I will test the I2 before and after update.

Ok, thats a bummer.
My i2 arrived last week and its already equipped with latest firmware.
My experience for video transmission is already bad, I can't get a good feed from the I2 and focusing the X4s camera doesn't work 95% of the time.
(waiting for X5s)
Also battery charging hub says batteries are 100%, but I2 says 92%
Now I wonder myself, why did I go for the I2 after bad experience with the Magic and P4P.

EagleEyeUav,

Your very hopeful that a new firmware is coming out soon to fix our current firmware problems,  However I couldn't no longer wait for the new firmware as being grounded from DJI faulty firmware.

My inspire 2 works just fine with the help of Youtube and the older April 2017 firmware.

Unlikely to be a radar issue as DJI does not use the DFS/TPC channels, they stay in the upper band from channel 149 upwards...

No harm in checking, but I'll be surprised if you see anything below that frequency.
