A word of warning Guys, please be careful not to over crank!!! Looks like an RMA no. unless anyone h ...

I don't know about an RMA? If you retrieved the broken part, just purchase a new one and install it. An RMA# will create a return. It broke and DJI is not responsible for your actions, not being sarcastic, but, it was fine until you tried to adjust it to grab a few more seconds from the Battery. Buy the Spring and let it go. The shipping will probably be more than 4 to 5 times the price of the spring!

So let me understand there are different inspire version s?

Yes, updates both Hardware and Firmware as we progress to make the Inspire top shelf. DJI accepts the input from the users and makes adjustments to better the product. That is why you spent a few more dollars of a better product and support. Think of Apple and the improvements that they do on a regular basis. That is from user input.

Just received the new CrankS tool in the mail.  We've all seen those videos on youtube where the original crank tool kept falling out of the screw during the cranking process so it's awesome that DJI recognized the problem and are sending all Inspire 1 owners the new CrankS . I was able to get 41 minutes of flight time with the CrankS and I was able to crank without having to attach crank locks.

Awesome Chris, can you post a pic of this new CrankS tool ?
Tip: I remove the (stock) crank tool before takeoff. Thats an extra 30seconds flytime and Problem solved

dundee I note that you have your cranker set at 12 oclock. With hindsight and after snapping my cranker spring, I think that 12 oclock may be the sweet spot.

Guys after 2 hours of telephone calls I have been told that the cranker spring is not yet available as a spare. So a huge  thank you to dundee, as he has very kindly removed the cranker spring from his bird to lend to me for my shoot this week. I am well and truly "Back on the crank"
After further testing I think the sweet spot is around the 1 O'clock mark. Pic attached. As you will see I have also added the anti "flyaway" device on the bottom of the rear panel. I was concerned that with the extra flight time "on the crank" that the bird could travel for miles well out of tracker range and be lost forever. Simply attach an extendable dog lead to this and flyaways are a thing of the past.

Hi boogieman, this is awesome news. I am presuming that you were also one of the "C" version beta testers with the new VPP props and E900 motors.
I was close one day but didnt have a spotter with me so had to end the flight at 38 mins as per FAA article 43 for single pilot use.

Thats a very technical peice of equipment there, dont be yanking on the lead though when it doesnt come back as that will be Pilot error and you wont get a RMA for repairs.

I guess the 1 O'clock position was just too much on your bird dundee. Sorry my friend. That looks like a stress fracture to me which has probably been proliferating for a while. Out of interest how many times have you been cranking per day?

Hi Dennis. Its the combination of the variable pitch props (VPP) and the E900's but they arent going to be released to the general public in China until 1st April, actually its less than an hour away. If you can, get an order in quick as they will soon fly off the shelves.
