I am new to this, but I am finding that my video footage is growing very fast.  How do you catalog it, and how long do you save the raw files for?

I never  delete anything.  I burn a lot of my raw stuff to disk for long term storage and backup,  Then i store it all on my sever.  I do the same thing at work, but at work i use google drive to store it all.  I even keep my bad takes, some times they come in handy.  the only time i delete a thing is if there some thing bad in it (nudity, people flipping the bird or other gestures) or the video clip degraded.  I do keep a detail log of everything i shoot, and note every thing.

I would recommend you to keep the video footage in PC via date and key words. And clean some unnecessary files regularly.
