For what it's worth, my colleagues who own Yuneec Q500s love having their handle mounts (that come with the quad copter) and say they work great.  Come on DJI, you need to be more unique than Yuneec!

Yes you are right.  And they just released the X5 camera with no comment on the standard fare camera shipped with I1.  

That's my point.  It's like it disappeared into their R&D vault.

That I cannot predict.   Would love to say yes, but thinking it might be closer to $500.   Nothing to back that up so will hopefully be closer to your number!

it's a nail bitter...  I sure hope they do not overprice the item for us.

There are so many hand held devices on the market already and we have been waiting for their official release of this product.

It's out and called the Osmo!  I just ordered mine!  $650 is not a bad price considering the camera alone was $550.

Looks like this didn't happen.  Looks like they have made a totally new camera to use with the OSMO so we have to buy new camera and the handheld unit.  Another "stupid" decision of DJI like the fact they are locking the drones into NFZ when I have permission to fly in a restricted area.

Yup totally disappointed with this announcement. They completely dropped all of us that have the X3 camera and the Inspire 1 needing to have the hand held device....   $650 ... Really...

Is it the same camera as the Inspire X3?  Yes it is a good price if you are just starting out... But I already have the camera do not need another one

A DJI rep on RC Groups stated that the I1 X3 cam will work on the OSMO, but the OSMO X3 won't work on the I1. He also started that a cameraless version is coming.... Soon..

Well mine is ordered, reason I am not waiting is that I have read that the OSMO camera has its focus set at 3.5 ft and the inspire is set to infinity. When I finish filming my construction sites I then carry the inspire round the inside of the site in order to have some internal footage, this is going to be so much easier with the OSMO. I also do quite a bit of filming at gymnastics events so the 125fps will be a big plus for the ultra slowmo.

If you look closely at the OSMO camera it does not have the rear mounted fan and some other minor differences. If the camera would work in the Inspire 1 at this price no one would buy the stock X3 camera.

I am going to wait for just the mounting assembly without the camera..  Don't need another camera at this point in the game

I agree, I am going to wait for the cameraless version. More waiting but I'm hoping it'll be worth it in the end.

I was in contact with DJI about selling the held unit without the camera, so I could use my Inspire 1 camera, but the reply was to wait since there is no pricing or delivery date scheduled in the near future. I believe this is another scam, why not sell the hand held unit first to give all the Inspire owners the advantage to expand there usage of the equipment thay have. It would have increased the sales since all inspire users are waiting for the handle only release date . PS. I could not wait, due to my buisness opportunitys, so I ordered the Osmo unit with camera.

They just announced via DJIGlobal  that the handle will be sold separately and pricing will be announced shortly!

I really do not have any jobs waiting for this unit and sounds like you do.
