Yesterday the new rules for flying with drones in Belgian airspace were announced in local media (radio, newspapers, tv en the internet).
Two different kind of users are specified. each of them with their own law.
Professional users :
take part in a medical an theoritical examination regarding aviation rules. To keep this certification you need to fly at least 2 hours each year.
Maximum flight altitude = 300 ft=90mtrs
If you want to fly over crowds your drone had to be registered.
If you want to fly higher you need to ask a special permit. These are just the highlights. The rules are a bit more complicate.
But I think this will work, these rules aren't the harsh, only the 90mtr altitude limit bothers me. At least people know what to do to get their license.
Non-professional users :
Can only fly on private property and to a maximum altitude of 100 ft=30mtrs.
In general this mean you can kiss your drone farewell !!
The only thing you can do is to get a license. I wonder how much that's gonna cost. So far there was only one place to take these courses at a price of € 2.500 !!
