Gimbal error - rocks back and forth

Well this is fun. Now my gimbal just rocks back and forth and doesn't stop no matter what resetting I try. Says
'"Hardware mailfunction, contact dji for repairs" Fun! I've flown it 5 times!

Get your money back if its not too late and if you get a new one DONT UPDATE THE D*MN FIRMWARE no matter what you do!

No crash, no issues. Worked great one day, not the next. I did not do the firmware update.

Hi guys,

I just had the same issue with a Mavic Pro. Gimbal went back and forth. Calibrating of IMU didn't help, calibration of gimbal was only possible to 5% then aborted after some minutes. I read a lot about replacing the ribbon cable or gimbal arm or starting the drone upside down or slighty turned to the right. Nothing helped.

For me the following procedure fixed it:
- start drone with clamp for gimbal attached (!)
- start calibration of gimbal (clamp attached)
- after calibration startet (showing 5%) I removed the clamp

Calibration went through up to 100% then everything was fine again.
