Same here, Update is stuck at 5% and RC is only beeping without making progress even though waited for 15 minutes. Anyone got a solution?

I have the EXACT same problem.  New Spark...opened it up today.  The firmware downloaded onto the Spark itself and the two batteries but the remote will not update.  Same thing= "you are in compatibility update or lacking update log."  I tried downloading the The DJI Assistant2 onto my PC but it would not recognize the Spark when plugged in, so that was useless.  I'm wondering if I made the right choice with this purchase.  It's going back to the store if this is not resolved in the next day or so...VERY frustrating.

Could you please reinstall the APP, then try it again? Besides, what is the light status of the RC? Could you please provide a screenshot of the error message or a short video of this issue?  Thank you in advance!

Did you get the same error like the OP? Could you please also try the steps I mentioned in my previous post, and provide me the info for better assistance?

Could you please also try the steps which I mentioned? Here are two videos for your reference. Besides,
for the DJI Assistant 2, did your computer recognize anything when the Spark is plugged in?  Could you please disable the antivirus and firewall, then reinstall the DJI Assistant 2,
then power the drone on, try to connect it again.   

Unfortunately I have been doing those things all day. Uninstalled app/ reinstalled app, powered down/powered up, uninstalled Assistant, etc. Disabled antivirus.  Nothing new in the video from what I was attempting.  Problem only exists with the RC...gets stuck at 5%.  Same for all of us.

RC is not found when plugin it in the Laptop. I get a warning on my Surface 3 Pro that USB Power ist exceeded when connecting the RC. Reinstalled APP several times but still same Error. Screens attached. What is this compatability Thing?!

i try over dji assistant on different Windows Laptops.
i try on Android 7 with and without reinstall the app (inclusive delete all data manually)
i try on a other Android device with Android 6
i try with a otg cable
i try with dji assistant over the spark
i'm a kid from Windows 98 and Android 2.1 I do not give up so quickly. But here i'm on end

what we need is a combination of keys press to the complete reset of the rc

I've got the same problem!

# When connected to the MAC, no option for updating the RC, even if the RC is connected directly via usb (same if it's connected wireless to the spark and spark is connected via usb).
# When connected to my mobile (Samsung Galaxy S6) wireless, it shows me an updating message. When i try updating, it's stuck at 5% and the RC is beeping continuously. When i turn of the RC (keep pause-button pushed, power-button once and then holding the power-button), the app shows me the 5% progress. When i turn off the app / mobile, the RC keeps beeping.
# When connected to my mobile via usb (otg), same failure as wireless connected.

I did exactly the way which is shown in the youtube-videos. I reinstalled the app several times. The RC is fully loaded.

For the Android app, please go to /sdcard/DJI/dji.go.v4/LOG/CACHE/UP_NEW_ALL , then you'll be able to find the log.

I've got exactly the same problem. I got a new Spark fly more combo yesterday, here in China. When doing exactly as the video tells, the progress stops at 5 %.
I've included the update log file in pdf-format, it is quite long since I've been trying a lot to day

log is too large

If that helps, some additional info:
+ when i start the RC, the status LED goes red (after blinking red).
+ when i start updating the status led goes green and the RC starts beeping. The app says "you are in compatibility update or lacking update log".
+ then progress is stuck at 5% and nothing more happens (all battery LEDs still on, status LED still green)
+ No error message is shown.

* I did exactly the way which is shown in the youtube-videos.
* I reinstalled the app several times.
* The RC is fully loaded.
* RC is not shown in Assistent 2 (MAC, no anti-virus)

There seems to be a misunderstanding for a few here. It is normal that the RC does not show up in DJI Assistant. Only the Spark and the Batteries can be updated with DJI Assistant. The RC can only be updated via Wifi connection (not OTG)!

In conclusion: It might be an issue with the Android-App. Using a iPhone to update the firmware could solve the problem.

Old App worked for me. Update completed succesfully so it is a corrupted Android App (newest version) which causes the error.

Yes, I've already done that. They'll look into it soon.

Oh man...come one. It's not too much to ask to read this thread once.
Just downgrade the DJIApp to the previous version.
