Would the Phontom 3 Professional be a good backup drone to be used with the Mavic Pro? Just want a backup drone that is at least as good of quality images as the Mavic Pro , but I don't want to have to buy the latest for that use.

Not bad. But the Phantom 3 Professional has stopped for sale now, maybe you can consider P4 series.

Thanks for the reply. Probably will wait for whatever comes after Phantom 4 line since it is being discontinued.

To meet different customers' needs, we proceed the iteration of products. The Phantom 3 Advanced/Professional have stopped production for now.

You might also consider the P3 SE if you don't mind wifi.
