it wobbles up and down seriously. The right clamp is still firm as new.

Never forced anything overly big inside, like an iPad mini, just my iPhone 6+

Is this a known issue or did I just get a bad sample?

No, I never dropped it. It didn't become loose suddenly but gets loose more and more over time like it unscrews itself inside.

I've bought the fly more combo on June 22, 2017.

Please provide me with the SN of the RC. I would recommend you send the RC in for diagnosis and repair,  please contact the Support to start a case. http://www.dji.com/support

was this caused by using an iPad mount? or just from having an iphone in the claw?  Reason I ask, is I'm buying an ipad mount and worried it may loosen the claws over time

I also have the exact same issue. It's not as bad as in the OPs video, but it's definitely noticeable. I've been using it exclusively with an iPhone 6S (non-Plus). I guess I'll open a case with DJI and go from there.

Mmmm, I have the exact same problem but the right hand side is loose. The only thing I’ve put in there is my iPhone se.
I’ve had my drone less than 2 weeks too, bought it in the fly more combo.

You can send it back for check if it had a bad impact on your daily use. If you encounter any problem during the case, please contact us.

Hi DJI Electra,

Yeah, I sent it back nearly 3 weeks ago. It’s in transit on the way back to me, I should get it back by the end of next week, 26/10/2017, accordin’g to the tra’cking information that I have been given by DJI anyway.

The remote controller had never had a “bad impact” as you say, I have literally only used it about a dozen times as it’s only 2 weeks old. The right hand controller arm was never as tight as the left hand one right out of the box and only got looser and looser with each use, which indicates to me that the RC was faulty from the factory.
I guess that QC is a hit and miss affair with DJI, I just got unlucky I guess. As I haven’t received my repaired RC back yet I cannot really comment on the quality of the repair.

Oh and if anyone is interested, if you do happen to have a warranty claim on a faulty product from DJI and you even have the care refresh package and they ask you to send it to one of their repair places, the packaging is at your own expense, albeit they do pay for the shipping. Apart from that DJI after sales service has been wonderful thus far. Grounded for three weeks has me sky envy.

I fixed it myself. Reason was a loose screw inside.

I removed the screw marked in green, then removed the plastic cap underneeth. Had to wiggle it a bit back and forth to remove it (and install it back later).
Then you see the hinge, where the arm is attached to the controller. A small screw holds the hinge and that become loose though it was fixated with Loctite (probably not enough). Unfortunately the plastic lip marked in red prevents you from reaching the screw with a tiny Philips screwdriver (N.00 if I remember corectly) . You can either try to use your screwdriver at an extreme angle (risking you damage the screw), disassemble the controller further to get better access to the screw (difficult) or do what I did, use a small file and remove a bit plastic from the lip. A 3 mm circle is enough and has no negative impact on the rigidity of the controller and doesn't look obstrusive.
IMG_5757.jpg

I'd recommend you first remove the screw completely and apply new blue Loctite before you screw it in again otherwise the issue will reappear sooner or later.

I assume this repair might void your warranty but my Spark was out of warranty anyways.

Btw. had do do this on both sides as the other became loose as well. Hadn't this issue again since.

Good luck

Pete

if you take the small plate off right below the metal arm, it's a torx or hex screw and pop the plate off, there is 1 screw that holds that metal arm. I just tightened mine up, took all of 5 minutes.

Mine too, I have the exact same problem on the left handle since right after I opened the box, don't know how to fix it and don't want to send it to DJI because I'm afraid that they could mark my case as a "no fault found" and charge me 50$ for the inspection. Honestly I am very disappointed about my Mavic Air because I also have a lot of other problems on the drone itself, just want to fix the remote as soon as possible so I can sell my Fly More Combo to someone else, I'm done with DJI.
