Last Sunday i flew my spark in a small park close to my home.
I used the RC connected through wifi with my iphone 6s. All the initially tests were performed succesfully, set Home Point and i took it off. I raised it to 20m height and only managed to fly it for 30m before it got disconnected and lost. There was no warning of compass loss or returning to home, it just got lost. There are some trees near but the drone was at a height more than them.

It is very annoying, I managed to fly it over 450m during my vacation and I lost it in 30 meters without even getting a warning.

i attach the flight log no interference, 93% of battery...

http://app.airdata.com/main?flig ... _id=WEATHERWind_Map

I need to know what might have gone wrong and after a week i have lost any faith of finding it again.

Thank you for any comments / suggestions.

George

The link?
As I can't see somthing there, one question:
20m or 30m away from homepoint, at time you lost it over trees.
Was it still line of sight or already FPV only?

Edit: I clicked "general", now I see something ;-)

Can you upload your log to link below, to PH they are much more comprehensive and accurate than airdata. Just click on link and follow instructions. I will have a look for you.

Looking at that area, it may stick in a tree.
But in one week also someone else can have picked it up already!
Trees between phone/RC and Spark is really not recommended.
It's a Wifi drone and trees are not only reflective but also waterpipes, so to speak

It was on sight but  then as i was pressing forth & up it disappeared. I imagine that by raising it up and as it was higher than the trees there was no chance of collision any of them. And also the sudden lack of signal is so strange

You were at 100 ft , you had very limited gps it suggests you may have went into Atti mode and drifted but your log shows very little.

Yep, you could see it.
How about the RC?
That can be a hugh difference, 50-60cm closer to the ground and this close to and above trees!
Also in urban area, aprox. some other wifi around, ....

Not to go for a search....I mean the dji go app has an option in case you lost the drone that is called "Find my Drone".Did you open this?

These are your last known coordinates you were 72ft altitude 103 ft from home when log ends abruptly it doesn't show any indication of crash your gps signal was weak , it's not clear what happened after that but your aircraft should be at that location or it continued to drift on the same line , I don't think radio signal was lost as RTH would have kicked in.
You should try again to look for it or put some lost notices around to see if anyone spotted it.

The video also clearly shows that is it on top of the trees and sudden loss of connection. I go to the park everyday with the kids and have told to other parents, that I know if they saw or listened anything. Until now no news. I really appreciate your time trying to resolve what happened and what is my mistake.

I don't quite understand, according to the log, it's like your Spark just shut off suddenly mid-flight. Because if signal lost, it should kick in return-to-home, and that should show in the log. Also, it is not possible to lost the connection between the RC and aircraft at that distance. You can lost the connection between Phone and lost the live-feed video, but should still be able to control aircraft with controller.
Does this mean the power shut-off not yet been solved with the mandatory update.
Without the blackbox, and the log shows nothing strange, I really doubt DJI will be able to do anything about this.

Yes first raise a case support@dji.com

Did you do anything wrong:
Your log doesn't show you doing anything wrong, your log ended abruptly altitude 72ft from take off and 103 ft from homepoint which was recorded.
So if the tree was higher than 72 ft you could have crashed, but this would have almost certainly shown in your log with many warnings.
If you lost radio signal aircraft should have gone into RTH it didn't .
There are no irregularities in your battery.
This will  ultimately be dji's decision but from what I see it does not show you doing anything wrong, with exception of tree, only you know the height of it.
So don't give up hope I have seen dji offer warranty for less.

Good luck I hope something goes right for you.

There is nothing to show this was a midair shutoff, certainly battery was in very good condition. If you have any proof I'm sure OP would welcome this.

I don't know what you mean by that, the battery clearly shows all through the flight to be working exactly as it should.

Are we now saying that we shouldn't fly with new battery, also if airdata are saying 0 charges for battery then this just goes to show how awful their flight records are, because surely it had to be charged at least once...

Why do you say defective battery? Surely you can see throughout the flight the battery is working fine, there is nothing to show in flight log that this was anything to do with faulty battery unless I'm missing something maybe you can show me this.

I am not sure if is air data malfunction....Because i test it and says the exact the same charges as the dji go app for me....Maybe the battery was new i am trying to say that if battery was new maybe was a defect or something that....Just 0 charges make me feel strange...

I suppose if you think because battery was new or didn't show a charge in a third party app this is more proof for you than all of the log showing a perfect battery, I find this kind of logic strange,

In case of a midair shutoff, shouldn't there be the message "Aircraft disconnected"? I would expect at least that message.
