Yes, the charging circuit board is soldered to the top of the lipo cells making it (smart battery).

The smart battery's charging circuit is asking for 180w from the power supply.
The power supply can only offer 100 and gets HOT when the tb47 or 48 draws 108w
I am going to get a 1000w power supply and make my own charge box that will charge 4 packs and 2 radios all at the same time in under 1 hour.

Very good advice there. I will posting an update over on the blog hopefully later today, but these are what Ive ordered up two for the project.

HP 321632-501 ProLiant DL380 G4 575W Power Supply - SPS 406393-001 DPS-600PB B

I should made it clear these are 12V units and plan on putting them in series. The simplest solution would be to go for a 24V set up like Genettico uses which is plug and play for the Inspire.   However like Bob, I was looking for a little more versatility having other equipment and the Phantom Vision +. Edit: I do not intend to purchase or tweak the Hobbyking unit to 26V (Although I would mind betting it could be done )

There is a lot to say for buying off the shelf units but tinkering is part of the fun

A lucky Google search pinged up theses guys http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1581061 and saved me a huge amount of time in playing with wiring diagrams etc. Here's a unit they have put together using the same thought process . So all credit to them and please check them out.

1) - The only warning one should adhere to is to NOT override the build in wattage protection, no need to.
(charging at 200w is safe and cuts the charge time in 1/2)

2) - I do NOT see any way to bump the voltage of that duel 12v supply up to 26v.
     . at only 24v, you will NEVER fully charge your packs, (maybe 80% at best)

Here is the link to my first ever inspire video clip.

The vid is straight from the sd card, (no post or cutting), I wanted potential clients  to see the capabilities of the I1. It was windy solid 20-22mph and I was flying alone. I recruited a couple of spotters, and had a monocular if needed anticipating the dreaded compass errors/gps drop out -
I had to drag the clip thru windows movie maker (to get a watermark on it) which killed the quality after an upload to Vimeo, (I have the OE clip in 4k though -

I was nervous, but sucked it up and went for it anyways, (I would have died losing the bird on the 1st flight, who wouldn't) -
There was only one day I could get this exact footage, and I went for it -

The main thing I learned was panning (by yawing the I1) was not good,
(I have since learned how to use the bottom buttons to switch between pan & tilt).

The quality of my skills on this 1st try are so-so (at best), but the subject matter is outstanding.
Make sure to use the pause button every so often, (to have a good look around) -

OK, I filmed the 2nd episode of the Fairdale Tornado on Monday.
What a HUGE difference in only 16 days.

I'll upload a nice clip for you guys, but only if I get at least 6 posts saying that you want to see it.
