Wow- I'd watched a special on the Ghost Fleet of Mallows Bay. The story behind all of those wooden ships, it's remarkable. The production of so many ships to transport weapons and troops is truly a remarkable tale. Great video!

Awesome location!

Not trying to be a critic here; hopefully this comes through as constructive and educational. ( I made the same rookie mistake!!! )

I suspect you are not using a ND filter on the Mavic and the flicker on the trees and the ocean "glare/flicker" could be eliminated if you use one. I did a shoot a while back and the flicker from the green leaves drove me nuts! I got myself some Polar Pro ND / Vivid filters and the problem vanished! *poof* The MAJOR problem with the Mavic is no aperture settings so the shutter speed is way too high... an ND filter allows you to lower the shutter speed creating smoother video with no flicker. Keeping the ISO down to 100 also using the polarized is VERY helpful also! ~ Colors are far more vivid and the quality of the video is GREATLY increased. Note: Now the ONLY time I do not use a Filter is when I am shooting 90 degrees to surface and there are no plants, water or reflective surfaces. (never?)

A ND filter was used and use one all the time...I use Taco-RC

It was shot 2.7K 24fps !00 ISO - Shutter at 50

Nope, the park ranger came by and spoke with us, offered a better place to take-off.  Was really, really cool.

Amazing. I've been waiting for more than 6 months for 107 authorization to fly Mallows (at a client's request). I've been told that there have been 0 authorizations within Quantico airspace and yet FB meet up groups are welcomed by the rangers.

Nothing personal against you and congrats on the great footage. Never ceases to amaze me though. How nice to make a couple of phone calls and be flying that same day.

I have fished in there, drug a sailboat out that decided to stay overnite and didn't relize there was tides,, lol
