Hi Folks,
Any recommendations for idiot proof video editing software that will give decent results.  I use Lightroom for my photos but have limited knowledge of video software.

If you use Lightroom, the Premiere Pro would be the obvious choice, but I would not call it "Idiot proof", definitely has a learning curve.  That said, there are a ton of resources to help you up that curve.

From my experience, there are not great options between the REALLY simple tools like iMove/Windows Movie Maker and the pro-level tools like Premiere Pro/FCX.  So, you either live with the limitations of the low-end tools or bit the bullet and learn the pro tools.

Are you mac or pc? If Mac then FCPX is great and much more intuitive than premiere. If you are on a PC then Sony vegas is more intuitive than premiere... If you are looking to grow into something on a PC I would go with premiere... But for mac definitely FCPX.

Wow premiere is £17.15 a month with no option to buy.  I'm not a lover of pay monthly software plans.  I can try the package using the free trial though.

I use Nero video.Not that hard to learn and affordable.

Bought power director 13, have struggled a bit not very intuitive for someone with limited brain power.  Bought Adobe premier elements,  managing to get some decent results with that, still a struggle though.  I will keep at it.

It took me a few days but I figured it out and love it

I fiddle with LightWorks, and find it a decent editor.  Not quite as intuitive as fcpx ( my wife uses that one on her Mac), but a great price point.

Has anyone else out there tried out LightWorks?
