If so, why would they take away 3/4 of the Inspire sales?
Or is that just the way it goes?

Most companies don't like to sell stuff that does the same thing as their existing new line...for 1/2 the price.

I'll be pissed if they bring out something so soon after spending over 4K on the Inspire1 Which is meant to be one of their flagship products not to be outdone by a cheaper (Though still awesome) product in the range.
A few years down the track wont be so bad but not even six months is to soon to out do the Inspire1

I really doubt it will be an update or replacement to the current Inspire.

I expect there will be some mention that all new Inspires will use the new E800 quick-release props instead of the original self-tightening ones.

Aside from that, I'm hopeful we'll see something about the Inspire Handheld Gimbal and maybe another camera using a Micro 4/3 standard.

One thing I would actually hope for is for the new Phantom to use the Inspire battery. Producing only a single battery type (regardless of capacity) would reduce DJI's costs and they could pass that saving onto us.
I also wouldn't be suprised if the new Phantom used the same camera as the Inspire (or at least the same gimble tech and fitting).

My Education guess is:

1) Handheld aparatus for the I1 Gimbal/Camera
2) Inspire Pilot App Update with Integration for the skypixel site
3) Waypoints in the app and easy Import into a 3D Mapping Software in the PC (wishful thinking)

I don't expect an I1 hardware upgrade aka I1.5
