from my understanding it will require a phone or tablet with GPS built in.  its basically updating via that.   thats pretty damn cool if it works that way and well..  one issue specially with the spark and its temperamental self at times.. mavic that's also good and smart because if you are using it to follow you dont want it to keep reseting away..

They say they set the aircraft position as the homepoint, not the controller (phone/tablet).
This is why I am asking whether it is available when no device is connected.

It whould make more sense if the RC position no?

I thinks this kind of Dynamic Home point was only for tracking mode without connect to any devices (RC or smartphone) so that it will not has 100m range limited.

And that makes absolutely no sense. So I wait with that update cause my Mavic should not land in water because it set a new Home Point There

It makes much sense when the drones postion is used for homepoint when no device is connected. Otherwise you are limited to 50m distance!

When comes the the dynamic HP active? Only with a connected device, only when no device is connected or can I set a Option for this?

Could this be the buildup to another FW update? We are inside the window of FW releases, 3rd week of the month. Hopefully this dynamic HP will remove the 30m limit when flying gesture mode without RC or phone when enabled, ill test it after work. Even better would be if DJI could clarify what is actually happening with this?

Right after seeing the notes in App Store, I have been really relieved.

For me, Dji is climbing the ladder of Apple and Xiaomi. I am slowly becoming a fanboy (and I have just broken my Spark last week)

Hopefully this FW will be out the next few days, id love to be able to use gesture mode and actually have my spark follow me along a trail to the end

I think it's pretty cool that DJI listening to awesome that you can lock frequencies and get Dynamic home point also a few other things mavic pro also got quick shots which is pretty cool.

Hopefully that's what we'll get (stick to the manually selected frequency even if we shut the drone down for a while) Right now if I change the batteries fast enough it stays on 2.4GHz and the selected channel. If I keep the drone powered off for a longer time it will go back to 5.8 as you've mentioned,.

I just downloaded the new update, logged in and will now explore the changes.  Look forward to hearing everyone's view of the change and hopefully someone with create a youtube video.

We have to wait for the FW update.. until now the changes in the App have no effect.

That's a great idea!  Lol!

They updated the description about the needed FW.
Now you need the v01.00.0700 or above to use the dynamic Hp.

My guess is the new FW will be along the next few days, possibly when they hit enough devices with the latest version of DJIGo4

Apple AppStore..

Will be with the new FW and the new dynamic HP also new Failsafe options added?
It would be nice if we could combine the dynamic HP with the failfafe option Hover or Land.

Yes for sure.. I am looking daily for a new FW update to test this new feature with my spark in gesture control with no device connected.

Maybe you can tell me the changes from 4.1.10 to 4.1.11 ?

Dirk, it makes use of the GPS of spark, so hp can be used without mobile device.

Thank yor for your reply. I understand the use of the spark internal gps. But I am scared that the dynamic HP is only available when a device is connected.
This means with the new FW I can hand lauch the spark (no device connected) and it will track me as long as I want because there is no distance limit anymore? (actual the distance is limited due the static HP)
