Keeping a constant 400' AGL going up a hill will require going higher than what the DJI aircraft thinks is 400'. Just don't fly near hills anymore, I guess they will say? Based on some of the scenic videos I see posted here, I would think that would affect a lot of users.
Then there is the 400'x400' cylinder around a structure. For a 1000' tower you need to be allowed to go up to 1400' AGL. They're going to cut off all the part 107 guys who do inspection work, and even property owners who want to inspect their own structures. Maybe true professionals are in the minority here but I just don't believe DJI would cripple so many. Ugh.
If true, this change would be the nail in the coffin for me. But I have increasing faith in the hacker-types that seem to have a knack for "tweaking" things in DJI's aircraft. If DJI wants users running unapproved stuff, then by all means keep crippling things for us. |
