Sounds like it resets the home point in relation to your controller for use when tracking etc and you are moving with the controller. But clarification would be nice.

From Spark Forum. It is for using with Gesture or Active Track when pilot and aircraft moves together to prevent aircraft from flying back to takeoff position when RTH is triggered. It will update homepoint to aircraft position every 15 metre.

This is what they had on early Phantom models too I think.

It is bad though that it is released on a new model but there is no documentation from DJI available explaining how to use it, other than possibly in the app when you are flying.

This is pretty cool that we get quick shots i knew the mavic pro was capable of it

It follows their trend of documenting almost nothing on DJI Go 4 at all.  Its a complex control app with a fairly poor and very outdated "guide" thats not even easy to find online.  

Then again, maybe they're aware that 90%+ of mavic users cant even be arsed to read the product manual so decided not to waste time writing something else nobody will read!

Terrible update, I have had to cut my flying time because the software crashed every couple of minutes.....I am running with an Ipad mini2...never had any problems with DJI go before today.

I can't fly as I've been locked out of the GO app after updating. At the sign in page it won't let me enter my password. Tried rebooting the phone and have the same problem. Don't want to reinstall the app unless I absolutely have to. Both Spark & Mavic grounded

There are 2 threads about this issue. Dji recommend to reinstall the App.

Interesting features.

Was surprised to be prompted to sign-in again.  Be aware if  you think you might have problems remembering your password -- you might want to hold-off if so until its more convenient to go through the password-retrieval process.

None of it available until firmware ver 01.04.0000 but I am not getting a prompt to update firmware yet.

Well thats not cool. I literally just bought an iPad mini 2 on ebay today.

I dont seem to have the circle with Quickshot but the other 3 work well. I have not updated my firmware still on 03.1000.( I have not been prompted )
Only odd thing is I can not start video from iPad screen while in Quickshot mode, I have to start video with button on remote.
I would have thought the video would start automatically in quickshot mode when you press the GO button on the screen.

What type of mobile device are you using? Can you reinstall the app?

I have stored all my passwords on a safe place, so if I'm prompted to enter my password and I have forgotten it, I will hopefully remember it is stored at the safe place

When I turned on the DJI Go app before (without the Mavic online) it would show me my current location. Update... I just may not have  good GPS signal where I am.

Ok, it was just my lack of GPS at my home.

However, I did find one bug in the new software: The setting to select either a one finger or two finger swipe to get into and out of full screen mode does not work. A swipe with one finger will always toggle full screen mode, and swiping with two fingers never works, regardless of the setting. It works fine in the android app, just not on iOS.

It doesn't... for circles, use "Point of Interest" which is there since first version. Actualy you can perform an Helix wiht Point of Interest... just start this intelligent flight mode and when the aircraft starts orbiting you can control the speed, height and radius of the circle.

I pad mini 2, I have deleted and restored DJI Go...same problem.....crashes and constant disconnects....as said before, I have NEVER had a problem with the software before this update.

It is simply too unstable to fly safely.

When I actually took it out to fly, the map updated.  I think the behavior is different than the previous version, but it still works when you need it to.

Why on earth would I want the Dinamic Home Point send "the aircraft at its current position"? Send it to where the controler is much more intelligent option, doesn't it?

You can use Dynamic Homepoint when using Active Track. The relative manual will update when the new functions available, please kindly notice the update of the official product web. Thanks for your attention.

Sorry for the inconvenience. Please try to reinstall the app. If DJI GO 4 keeps crashing, please provide us the info below. Appreciate your work.
1. Operations before and when the app crashes
2. Aircraft model
3. Device module (iPad mini 2)
4. DJI GO app’s version number (shown under Settings of Me in the app)
5. Crash log, (need to download iTools, iTools>Toolbox>Advanced features>Crash Log)
6. Your DJI account

Yes, please try to reinstall the app, please sync your flight records firstly if needed. Please keep us updated if the issue persists.

I sort of get what they were trying to achieve, but like you I think that up dating the controllers position would be more appropriate (unless you're using an iPad without GPS. Then you're back to the old ways).
My concern would be if, whilst flying in Active Track the MP up dated it's RTH whilst over trees, when RTH kicked in, it would head for the tree and not where the controller is.
I'm hoping this is a feature that you can turn off/ not choose!!

Have reinstalled app numerous times (ipad mini ) - no go on signing in.  Works OK on my iphone 7s, but that gets calls from family.

You will need to reset the password if you are unable to get into the app. Also, consider trying a different phone if you are having issues with a specific phone.
