How does one go about changing the rank on these forums? I thought it was the flight distance but maybe it's more to do with posting?

I can't resist on this one because my comment will earn me one more point, and gets me closer to not being a hobbyist! The more you participate, the more points you earn, and the faster you move up in "rank." There are also the daily log in points.

Here is some ammunition, Got a P4 orig. Did an update last weekend and now my small gimbal light does not come on and i cannot link RC to AC, Updates via DJI assist 2 to v02.00.106 fail after 100 % download. Attempts to go back to factory restore say it completes but there is no indication that the FW ever left v01.02.602 cause after refreshing the version it still says v01.02.602. Currently grounded until solution arises. Attempts to manual connect via the DGI Go App fail and via the C1/C2 button option fails as well.
Tried numerous cables/SD cards (formatted or new) still no go.

All true, however, the higher you go the more points needed to move up to the next level...
Means ya gotta post even more, like I'm doing now

I think dji admin need to be carefull about what they do here. Just because a pilot has alot of flight distance doesnt automaticly make them a good candidate for a high rank. There are many knowledgeable people out there with very little or no flight distance on there records. The same can be said for those that post to nearlly every thread just to gain higher ranking. I questioned about the rankings in a different post and came to the conclusion that the ranks really mean nothing to me if i have a question or can give advice then i will post if im not sure about something someone else has posted then i learn from the answers others give..
We can all learn from each other.

Safe flying.

Absolutely true. There are some candidates here that are obviously couch pilots.
Got a Capatian rank by making a comment in every thread without saying anything substantial while having low mileage ;-)
But most of the old "hawks" provide very good input I find.

You can even bank on it.

Every 180 points is equivolent to $1.00 USD

So 1800 equals $10 USD, which can be spent in the DJI online store.

I'm saving up for the Inspire 4 or the Phantom 6 Pro. Chuckles
Plus I want to be an Instructor, & open a drone flight school. Hahaha

I think they ought to make another way to track the "Experience" of a pilot (Total Km's?).  That would make me feel better.

Hahahahaha, great one.

I agree every system has it's own pro's and con's.
Right now I don't own a drone yet. But I am saving for either Spark or Mavic  (P4A is also on my list, but a bit too expensive) and I like to read a lot about my purchase before buying.
In the meantime I sometimes see a question I happen to (think to) know an answer to or reply to a video that I liked.
My replies so far won't be as helpful as the ones from more experienced flyers, but hopefully some are.

I agree.
It's more fun to fly my batteries down to 10-20 percent and then come in here to read and learn.
Now that I know how to move up in grading, I'll type more.
And I have another post in mind......
