Long story short. My Drone crashed and could not be retrieved today. I was flying line of sight when the drone received a magnet interferrence switching from GPS to ATTI. After that, it went really fast and crashed into the ground. I couldnt retrieve it because it is on the other side of a water fall. Here is a video.

Are you willing to post the logs of this flight from your mobile device.  It might help you (or help us) to determine what happened from this flight, and what lessons we might take from the experience.

That's sad to hear. Anyway I always copy my sd card after flight day. Just in case...

Tough break man, maybe DJI will find something in your log from the app.

Yes, tragic indeed and that just after having posted that wonderful "teaser" about Iceland here in the forum, which was/is one of the best I have ever seen (and am myself far away still from achieving). By coincident I was probably the first viewer of your crash video above as I had been checking out your channel only minutes after you had posted it. I hope you have received my PM on the topic. You should definitely send your flightlog to DJI support and I cross my fingers that there will be some good solution. And despite all this mishap, please keep up your great work and share it with us whenever possible!

Hey guys thanks for all the messages you all are too nice. I have the log but it wouldnt let me attach it to the dji ticket i opened. I believe this is the flight log. Its the last one. I am not sure though since this is my first time looking for the file. Flight log crash

That is really sad to hear, have you contacted the Support to start a case? I would recommend you to provide the flight log and the cached video to the Support, they'll submit a data analysis for you.

Maybe its best to try to retrieve the spark via bridge as suggested before. But it strange that this interference issue is still happening after latest firmware. I see on google maps and your video that there is really no sources in the area which can cause interferences, and that should worry dji and all spark users. I think there is definately something wrong with spark product and that dji overlooked something. It looks like a flying bomb , which can go off anytime. As i said before i will be going to iceland next week with spark and p4p . But i think i will leave the spark as often as possible in the box. I wished i hadnt bought it , but it seemed to be then a good small backup and alternative.

Nah bro its at reykjavic beside hard rock its an official store. I wish i can get a temp discount so i can get a mavic but its $1400

Ah thats good to know just incase i put my drones next to the crashed spark of jsfilm than i can go there nextweek

Crazy thing is after i flew mine i saw someone with a mavic and i asked the pilot if she got any interference she said no. she went way higher too. we didnt drone same time of course

Since the magnetic declination for Iceland is -13.85degrees, obviously you checked your compass mod values before take off yes?

Telling you its something wrong with the product, you are not the only one. And i dont think there are many issues with mavics, phantoms as much as the sparks

Regarding magnetic declination? Meaning you should anyway calibrate compass in iceland? As stated before only calibrate when prompted

Hi, did you calibrate compass in Iceland? In my last trip (from Portugal to Norway) i was advice (even here in these forum by DJI member) to calibrate compass. The app didn't ask to but i've notice my spark was flying very strangely, moving awkward to his left side and not very responsive. Then i calibrated the compass and the spark was flying very nice again. So, as i read here and adviced by DJI member, when you move from one location to other very far, please calibrate even if the app doesn't ask. When i arrived in my country (3400 km away apart) i calibrate it again. And till now, everything is ok.

yes compass said it was good to go. i always check before i go up. It said normal. I was able to retrieve my drone prolly wont try to retrieve a drone beside a waterfall ever again though lol. Someome said herr there was a bridge. it didnt hit ne until i got the drone back so i went the long ways. stupid me. ill have the video up

Does the drone work? Did it land or just crashed into the rocks?

yes i got it back. missing a prop but i got extra. it smacked into the rocks and trees. i have to test itm im charginf it right now. you guys rock. thanks for the bridge tip too bad i took the long ways goin there but used bridge back which is 30 mins shorter

Glad you got it back. Its easy to get new drone but not what is on the mem card.

Yeah, but the top speed was 31,9 mph (51 kmph) 5 secs before the log ends, not sure if this was the speed when it crashed or it indeed slowed down before it hit the ground?I believe it crashed with 31.9 then the rest in the log was recorded when the AC was on the ground already.
