I carried out 2 flights with my Inspire 1 this evening. On the first the video failed to record despite repeated pressing of the record button on the controller and on the iPod camera screen. Despite this I was able to take photographs in DNG and JPG format. On the second flight after a battery change the video recorded correctly alongside taking photographs. I started with 4K video which worked fine earier in the day and changed it to 1080p for the second flight. I did format the microSD card before the first take off.  I probably should of landed and restarted the Inspire 1 when I realised something was wrong.
I lost some fantastic sunset shots over the Moray Firth due to this problem.  I hope this feedback is useful.
