I did a Pre Order for the Mavic Pro Platinum from Best Buy, they said they would ship in a couple days. I read this thread that they it wont ship till the end of October. I am very troubled about ordering from DJI for several reasons. My concern is they knew about the holiday in China, and still picked a ship date of Sept 25. There was also a quality issue a year ago with the Mavic Pro, As noted by several YouTube videos involving the Camera gimbal, video jitter, and random fly aways. This was on the first gen initial orders. because they rushed out the orders with know Quality Assurance . China is known for having ZERO quality control. I know this because when I worked at IBM and Sun Microsystems, we had several hardware bugs that were present on about 10% of all products that we had to replace. That being said, I know that all drones are manufactured in China. The responsibility for QA is DJI, and they seem to be oblivious to customers, and didn't notify them when they know they have an issue when the customer called support. Many here in the forum also complain about tech support having a language barrier and copy and paste responses. Since this is simply a $1000+ toy, I plan to cancel my order and wait for DJI to get their act together. I feel sorry for existing customers who are already stuck with a company that does not have a customer focus. Granted they have the best consumer drone on paper, but that can change tomorrow. |
